What will they be? Name the top 3. Obviously the true church cannot be harmed, however the "undecided" will be affected by the threats.

I say the top 3 are.

1. The Charismatic Movement
2. The Seeker friendly Movement
3. Biblical ignorance and apathy

People today are ignorant of their bibles, and often do not care about doctrine. They do not like reading books, listening to sermons, diving into the word, and as a consequence are not out witnessing like they should. That is because lots of people these days that sit in churches are very likely false converts. The Charismatic movement is a breeding ground and a safe haven for such people.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.

Eph 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Eph 6:13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Eph 6:15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
Eph 6:16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;
Eph 6:17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
Eph 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

Mat_16:18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The threats to the church haven't changed since its founding. The things to watch for in yourself are an evil heart of unbelief, and a root of bitterness.

1. The Charismatic Movement

Every time I hear Fred Flintstone says "YABBA-DABBA DOO!", he's really snake handling and giving us a sure, extra-biblical utterance. Which is why I can't understand your problem with this ROCK-SOLID teaching. :)

Very excellent response. The biggest threat within this board is those whose tuition was paid by parents in seminary for endless years and the final result was those who graduated thinking Peter, Paul and Mary is a folk music group.

The biggest threat to Biblical Christianity in 2014

What is has been throughout the age:

The tares among the wheat (Matthew 13).

I answered "atheism", because..... I don't think there is a "threat" to Christianity.

" the gates of hell shall not prevail against it"

Rather in my thinking I was considering the greatest CHALLENGE to christianity and its message. It is alarming to me the influence that atheism is having on our culture and particularly its young people.

My concern is with "the young, radical and godless.

Fundamentally, the biggest problem is lack of true discipleship (learning how to be obedient to Jesus) and a theology that is focused on death (going to heaven when you die) instead of life (how should I live for and serve God and other people since I am going to reign forever).

Rather than seeking the opinions of men, why not check with the Bible and see what it says will threaten the Faith in the last days?

1) We are to contend for the faith handed down to us. Jude 1:3

2) People who deny our Master and Lord. Jude 1:4

3) Grumblers, fault finders, Jude 1:16

4) Mockers following after their own lusts, causing divisions. Jude 1:19

How many of us qualify as threats to Christianity?

Are you serious???? What study have you done on the movement outside of your personal opinions and experiences?

How about fellow Christians who are blind and short-sighted because they lack one or more of these qualities.
a) Moral excellence
b) knowledge
c) self control
d)perseverance
e) godliness
f) brotherly kindness
g) love

It does not take a rocket science to figure out who threatens Christianity. We do!

Are you saying that Mormons and Catholics are better christians? Look good fruit is only part of the equation, but good doctrine is more serious and more vital. Plenty of Mormons show fruit, but they have another gospel.

Knowledge of some systematized doctrine or a life more obediently lived? Hmmmmm, what a no brainer.

And just in case you need a little scripture. You might want to consider Micah 6:8

(ESV)
He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,[a]
and to walk humbly with your God?

Are you saying that doctrine is not important and irrelevant? If that is the case why the book of Romans? Why the book of John?

That is a ridiculous dichotomy.

Without systematized biblical doctrine, what exactly are you being obedient too? You have to know what God is telling you to do, before you can do it.

Tell me, do you actually understand the gospel? I say that, not to be mean, but because I don't see how anyone who understands the Gospel (salvation by faith in Christ, as revealed in scripture APART from works) could think that WORKS is more important than DOCTRINE (belief). That is just completely anti-gospel.

Cut the childish "works by salvation" allegations. It is vastly more important to grow and live the principles found in the pages of scriptures than it is to have some doctrinal knowledge of systematized theology. VASTLY
