The Brothers Falwell

Here is an article about the two Falwell brothers.

It is extremly lengthy - but well worth the time to read the full article.
It was written by a graduate of Liberty. His time overlapped Jerry Sr and Jr.
His articles have appeared in the New York Times, The Atlantic and the BBC, among others.

Someone has gotta tell the Truth

LOL! Politico. Cool gossip thread. Thanks.

It's funny how "christians" run to liberal outlets to throw other christians under the bus. Like Walker who ran to CNN.

Personally, I'm more concerned about Christian virtual signalers than I am about the Falwell bros.

I will not spend too much time discussing Jerry Falwell, Jr except for the comments I will make in this post. The man lost my respect the way he (and some other evangelic leaders) excoriated any Christian of note who was not on the Trump train in 2016. In this day an age of social media what the man did was downright dumb. What is more distressing is how he is treated as Baptist royalty and is beyond criticism of any type. If he was of a different theological bent you can rest assured certain Baptists on this board would be roasting him over a spit.

@Salty , I did read the article. How much of it is true? I do not know. At the least, Jerry Falwell, Jr.'s judgment is questionable.

I will now stop commenting. Anything further will delve into gossip and hearsay.

So how long did it take you to read the entire article.

Politico is liberal hit piece organization, as is CNN. They are prime spreaders of fake news. You mentioned avoiding the appearance of evil. Don't you think Christians running to these organizations to trash others Christians is the opposite of that? Isn't that, at least, worse than what Falwell did?

I commend him for this (though "excoriated" is an overthetop word). It needed to be said. NeverTrump Christians turned their backs on the unborn in 2016. They claim to be pro-life, but refuse to vote for life.

But I'm glad you said this, because that's what this really is about.

The battle for the unborn will not be won in the courts. If you place your faith there, you will be sadly mistaken.

I believe the anti-abolitionists said the same thing. They were wrong. Christian abolitionists likely listened to garbage like this all the time as the battled on.

We're 1 to 2 SC justices away from being able to deal a serious blow to the worst holocaust in history, at least in America. Many many good things can be accomplished by the courts. One thing for sure, what you're doing will accomplish absolutely nothing. I thank God most Christians don't agree with you.

The brother’s Falwell plural.... There is a huge difference between Jonathan and Jerry Jr!

Webster's defines "excoriate" as, "to censure scathingly". That is exactly what Falwell, Jr. did during the 2016 campaign. You are entitled to your opinion but not to your own set of facts.
