Jim...I just checked...30c = 86F here. That is perfect weather. I would not ever have air conditioning either.

But your heat bills make up the difference between us.

    what is hottest in Scotland?

Well me too...I got work to do....someone elses turn to hold down the fort.

It looks like Monday we should let this thread fade and start fresh again.

Maybe rsr will have a story for the new thread. I miss those. He is really good at them.

We have been alternating between air conditioning and heat for about a month now. One day it is cold outside, there goes the heat on. Then the next day it is hot outside, there goes the air conditioning on. AC is on right now. THat gumbo is heating up the place.

Blackbird, how did you know I was having trouble with my hair. I have been contemplating a perm all week, but my last one was so bad [IMG] that I had to cut my hair really short to get rid of it. So I'm going to straight hair now, but I have to work so hard on it to get the to look like anything.

I'm looking for a new beauty shop. Last person couldn't remember from week to week how to fix my hair and she wanted to fix it like a little old lady's hair (can't imagine why). I'm not little and I am not old :D

I know when I told you it took me all day Saturday to get ready for church, you immediately thought it took that long for me to fix my hair.

Actually, I plan music for Sunday and study my ss lesson in addition to worrying about my hair and what to wear. [IMG]

Oh, DDP is diet dr pepper, Jon.

Got to go. Hope you all have a great day and great Sunday. It is going to difficult to top last Sunday's Service. It was not the usual
Easter production, but it was beautiful. We have great worship leaders in our church. We have a great church. OH, too many greats.... ;)

Sherrie: "Poor jon.....If could send you some okra seeds,
I would. It is the easiest thing to grow. I have had
some plants I know well over 10 ft. tall. "

Recall that okra won't grow in Scotland
save maybe in a greenhouse. Okra won't grow
until the soil tempature gets above 90ยบ

Jonmagee: "So okra and gumbro can be the same thing????"

I think the okra is raw, gumbo is cooked.
I aught to know [IMG] i'm from okrahoma ;)

Jim1999: "is there a food specific to Geneva we could boycot?"

Fried crow, boiled crow, crow souffle, crow-under-glass,
crow sauteed in Old Crow, etc.

Please call it: The Coffee Shop #3.
This won't make a difference now, but will later.
On another bulletin board there is now
a thing called "AG chat #158".
(AG = anything goes) It only took
a couple of years to get there.
Those threads are cut off after 250 posts.

I like to think of it as a chat room simulator [IMG]

God bless one and all who enter here [IMG]

That's a lot of crow, Ed..... We rather like the crows around here, but,,Geneva Crow....just wait until our army gets there.....might take a year or two.....

It is hard to keep up in here when it goes to "chat format".....

Daughter and her husband were in the front woods and got a punctured tyre.....had to go and help with my truck.......

Sherrie, our heating costs are not as high as Florida's energy costs. It takes far less energy to generate heat than it does to cool. We heat our entire 3000 sq ft home with one woodburner and use about 4 cord of wood each winter. If we purchased that wood, the cost would be around $500.00.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Sherrie: Thank you for posting this news:

    http://www.baptistboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000865
(topic title is: "Missionary couple challenges IMB's grounds for termination"

I guess people wanted to discuss it, but the
topics in "News affecting Baptists worldwide" get cut
off after three pages. So that topic is now closed.

    I've started a similar topic
called "SBC IMB and 2000 BF&M" at:
    http://www.baptistboard.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=002547

Perhaps those interested in the subject
could have a kindly discussion (debate
    optional [IMG] ) there?

You folks have really been chugging down the joe today. I got up to go to work and found I was already six pages behind.

Blackbird: It was a 1892 Winchester carbine with a large loop lever.

Jon: The okra flower is very beautiful; the plant is related to the hibiscus, which shares similar climate preferences. It's best breaded and fried and served with purple-hull peas, raw onions and fresh tomatoes. Better than taties and neeps.

Besides, Jon I didna ken ye were puttin' ou' th' brass, else I wouldna' left before another round.

Sherrie: I'm afraid the scripts may be at an end since you've moved on to the coffee shop. It's just too warm to be BRRR right now. Probably need another plot line.

Ed: Okrahoma, eh? Ever been to the Okra Festival in Checotah? I went once and they had an Okra Winfrey doll ...

The Kolache Festival in Prague (that's pronounced "Preg" for those unaccustomed to Oklahoman pronunciation) is next Saturday. Maybe we could pop over and pick up some pastry for the coffee shop.

I actually saved that Haggis recipe, I think it was rsr or you Jon, that posted it awhile back. Neeps...no Jon how do you like them?

Now here is the catch...I would actually try to prepare that "Haggis". I would not eat it, but I would try to fix it. I would probably need someone to be with me as I do it the first time...but I can cook folks. Really I can!

Well, I'm not going to go back and read all the posts since my last...I don't want to be all day on the computer.

I had a friend who was from Prague, Hungary...and the Oklahoma pronunciation is way off. [IMG] Is there a city called Prague in Oklahoma? I know there is a Paris Texas. ;)

When I spent the summer with my aunt and uncle in Arkansas, I had Okra for the first time...it was delicious. I haven't had it since. It's been 27 years. I tried to make it...but it just turned out mushy.

I'm on my own this weekend...just me and the girls. The atmosphere is so much different without the presence of testostorone. It's kind of fun. We'll be going to church on our own tomorrow too. Doesn't look like the guys will be back until late. [IMG] I really hate making that drive without my husband, It's a fair peice from here, and people drive about 90 miles an hour. it's a dangerous 2 lane highway...and people pass you if you aren't exceding the speed limit by at least 20 miles an hour. As for me... I don't want to get a ticket...Iv'e gotten one in my life...and that was one too many.

I must admit though...that without my husband and son around, I stayed up way too late. I didn't get to bed until 1:30 this morning. I was even able to post to the B.B. late at night...because my son wasn't here to be mindful of the tapping and the light the computer gives off. (The office, laundry room and my son's room are all the same room)

Asta La Vista Baby...I'll probably check back later.

You mean Prague in the Czech Republic? Prague, Oklahoma, is the home of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church (there's the Czech influence), which also is the home of the National Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague.

And, I kid you not, there is a motel there called the "Czech Inn."

Yes, Virginia, there is a Prague, Oklahoma. Ten miles due north of I-44 at the Seminole exit. Jim Thorpe was born there.

    Who is Virginia?

My friend was Hungarian. She vacationed in Prague... I guess I assumed it was in Hungary.

You have friends outside the B.B.? The last time I checked there weren't any little old ladies with blue hair sitting under hair dryers here....but I could be mistaken. (By the way... I don't sew, I dont' sit under a hair dryer and I don't read that hokey magazine...so much for steriotypes. [IMG] )
