Well, now that I am some what educated on the Haggis and Bashed neeps...after conciderable reading...in Scotland it is better to buy Haggis already made, than make it from scratch. The talk is: it taste wonderful, and almost taste better than scratch.

Wonder where you buy Haggis at around here? If I call the local Butcher...do you think he would have Haggis?

Oh do not forget while eating Haggis and Bashed neeps; you should be playing celtic music. Brass pipes if possible. If not some classical celtic will be fine. All rise for the entrance of the dish being brought to the table (On a silver platter too) and all applaud. Now you may be seated.

Now, now! Ladies!! Look yonder! Sherrie won't admit it but this here Coffee Shop is really a converted beauty salon--and Laurenda was their biggest customer! There are still some of those old Woman's Day mags hangin' round--Laurenda, why don't you get one of those "BeeHive" do's--or one of those fruzzy little "Poodle" cuts----BAAAAAAAA!!! You asked for that one!!!

I can remember living with my aunt for a summer--and every Friday she'd have a group of "hens" over and they would all "do" each others hair! I'd be outside mowin' the grass and from time to time would go in for a glass of water--and I'd hear um in there and after they'd leave I'd ask my aunt "What 'chaw talkin' about??" and the answer was always something like "Our Sunday School lesson comin up!!"

Your Southern Baptist preachin', woman's hair doin' buddy!!!!!

I keep telling you dude...I'm not an old lady. [IMG] I'm not ready for the blue hair do quite yet...give me another 50 years okay? Biggest customer?...do I look high maintenance to you?

Hey, listen...would you all pray for me...2 new members have been busting my chops, and I'm having a hard time not getting upset about it. You know me...I can give as good as I get...but when it's more than one at a time, it's harder to deal with with out it taking it's toll on my sweet spirit.

    Laurenda

I'm going to bed...my eyes are blurry. See you folks tomorrow, sleep well, and God bless.

Jon, forgive me. By familiar, I meant that you knew about it, given the name of the stuff; not that you are imitating Rabbie.

    Laurenda,
What they bustin' ya about?? "Clip their wings!" "Nip it in the bud!" Tell um ta don't start nothin' they can't finish!--I posted on a Pastoral Ministry thing--all about pastoral authority--some newbies come in wantin' to "take over!" Really gave me a bad time about my grammer and English and stuff--boy, that's my pet peeve--people who jump on me out about my English!! Mercy, give um a little time--they'll settle down!

Now, about that "do!" My wife is goin' to the female barber this week--she's your age, girl!! and she wants to borrow that Woman's Day sittin' there at your table???!!!

Your Southern Baptist preachin', English speakin' buddy,

    Good Morning, All.

Betty agrees with Laurenda, but she doesn't have time to post this morning. Too busy with her hair [IMG]

As for arguing with newbies, i've been
    there, i've done that, i've got a t-shirt
that used to say: "I've arugued with newbies
and all i got is this lousy T-shirt".
All that is left of the t-shirt is the
    sleves [IMG]

As for "girl", i call my 91-year-old
    Mother-in-law "girl". She loves it.
So you children under 60 don't take no
more of that "over the hill" stuff,
    just enjoy your youth!

May God's blessing flow into the Coffee Shop
crowd free and thick as the coffee which
    also flows.
    /ed studies Asa (I Kings 15) and slurps coffee/

I bettcha don't hear this song very
    much any more:

    Oh day of rest
    For thee i sigh
    When shall my moment come
When I shall lay my armor by
And dwell in peace with Him.

    We'll work till Jesus comes
    We'll work till Jesus comes
    We'll work till Jesus comes
    Then we'll be gathered home!

Is Sunday (the Lord's Day) supposed
to be a day of rest
    or a day of activities?

    Sunday School (teach)
    Morning Worship (sing & listen)
    Eat lunch with daughter?
    Knappe
    Evening worship (take organist)

    and that is 5½-hours there.
And i'm just a layperson [IMG]

    I can do it!
    \o/ Praise The Lord! \o/

Thank you for saving my reputation.

There is a story about the author of Sherloch Holmes (was it Sir Arthur Conan Coyle?)
Apparently he liked practical jokes and sent a telegram to 12 friends who had fine standing reputations. The telegram read "Flee away, your secret has been found out!)

24hours later all 12 men had left the country.

    yours, Jon.

Good afternoon to all,,,,,,,and evening to Jon....

We were talking about the variable weather in Canada yesterday. Well, Alberta was greeted yesterday with 50 cms of snow and are expecting more to-day...Eastern Ontario is sunny and warm,,approaching 22celsius. The difference in 3000 miles.

Blackbird...You say someone dared to correct your use of English? Shame on them....shame, I say!

And Celts never did listen to the English.

I read this in a church bulletin:

In 1654, one vote gave Oliver Cromwell control of England.
In 1845, one vote broght Texas into the Union.
In 1868, one vote saved Andrew Johnson from impeachment as president.
In 1876, one vote gave Rutherford B. Hayes the presidency of the United States.
In 1960, Richard Nixon lost to J.F. Kennedy. The latter won it by less than one vote per precinct.

Your presence at church does matter.

    Cheers,

    Jim
