"The Coffee Shop" #5

Jon, I have learned to do a lot of things while walking in my sleep. Boil eggs, put the coffee on, make school lunches, talk on the phone, and many more things. I am pretty good at it. Oh and I do talk in my sleep! LOL

It has rained here rsr for three days straight. I have not been able to walk my 2 miles for 2 days now. I hoped to do that between harsh clouds. No such luck yet.

Ed is better...na...na...na na...na! So glad Ed! Have been worried about you, and Betty.

Sue have fun today!

Good morning to all.

It is a gloriously sunny day here to-day and warming up. We did have rain most of the week, off and on, but the rain is God's cleansing of the atmosphere, so praise God from Whom all blessings flow.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day. God bless.

Cheers,

Jim

PS....The BB clock and mine were bang on to-day. I fail to see the problem time means, but there it is.

Jon, could you please send some of your Presbyterian weather over here? While storms have blanketed much of Oklahoma, we've had only a trace and it's as dry as a first-time preacher's throat. For the year, rainfall is 8 inches below normal.
i'll see what I can do

You do all that at the same time! You must be some amazing woman.

Ok Jon! LOL I cannot do all things at one time...

...Well actually....tho....I have done all those things in order any given weekday...getting kids ready for school.

My friend calls me and wakes me up in the morning, while talking on the phone to my friend, I wake both Children, fix lunches, make a cup of coffee, and feed the cat, and see if the children want breakfast. Still talking I quickly rush the one child who lingers in the bathroom out, put my friend down and go in.

Now, don't you think that is good? And I am still half way asleep.

Yesterday was one roller-coaster ride

About 45 minutes outside of Jackson I hit a gully-washer, and have to exit the interstate for a few minutes because even with my defrosters on--I can't see anything. I do make it to West Memphis, AR, okay; and things started looking up there. The position I interviewed for is teaching Spanish I at three different junior highs(2 classes on campus A, 1 class on campus B, and 2 classes on campus C). I met with the deputy superintendent and the principal at one of the junior highs(grades 7-9) where I'll be teaching. The principal was really nice, and thinks I would be an asset to his faculty. He does have one more candidate to interview, but the biggest peace I found is that maybe I should be teaching Spanish instead of math(I am certified in both subjects). Maybe that is why I have struggled as a math teacher in the past, and as a grad student when I went to Mississippi State. Maybe God has been trying to get my attention all these years, and I'm finally softening up enough to listen to Him. In a way, maybe I am learning that availability matters more than ability. I just need to keep praying. Maybe teaching Spanish can lead to other opportunities.

After I drove back into Tennessee, I decided to spend the night in Memphis--to unwind. But any chance I had to unwind went away when the severe weather came back. There was a tornado warning until 1130 or so for Shelby County(Memphis), and my heart felt like it was in my stomach

I was more nervous last nite than I was two weeks ago, but all I could do is cry out to my Father. The storm passed and even threatened Jackson, but it died out rapidly.

After sleeping late this morning, I visited a gentleman north of Memphis about an '87 Thunderbird he has for sale. I think I'm gonna settle on this car instead of the Ciera, and I even gave the owner a down payment of $300 to confirm my intent. Monday I've gotta find some way to get back to Tipton County(where the T-Bird is). Maybe a friend can give me a ride over there. Right now I need to think about whether to spend tonight in the one Red Cross shelter still open in Jackson, or opt for something more private since tomorrow morning is the first of four straight mornings I have to leave for work before the sun rises

Jimmy..I know this is wierd, but I had heard, Dexter was wanting another Spanish Teacher for 9-12th grade. Don't know if they ever got one yet either.

Probably too far out of the way for you tho.

Not bad Sherrie, but why "put your friend down"? That has bad connotations over here. If you "put someone down " you are not being nice to them

I thought people were making a big deal about the B.b. clock being right now? It's 5:30 exactly...beep. What happened? My clock was only off 20 some odd minutes, now it's off an hour? Oy Vez. Going to profile to adjust myself again....bleck!

I love alliteration too. I work very hard to get my sermon points all in alliteration.....Doesn't always work out though.

The English language can be so expressive.

Cheers,

Jim
