"The Coffee Shop" #7

Just got home from a B-B-Q at one of my deacon's homes---If I can swing it my way this guy will be up for chairmanship come September!! One more B-B-Q ought to be enough to get me to cast the decidin' vote!!!!!!!!

Pray you all had a good Memorial Day! I took my wife and kids fishin' early this morning--then worked a little on upcoming Sunday's AM message--then we went to the gathering!! Washed the peach cobblier down with black coffee!! Had a good time!

See there! If you all lived here in the suberbs of Wesson---I could get ya'll to move ya'lls letters to my church---and if we all played it like we do here in the Coffee Shop there will never be a disagreement nor arguement--we'd go to church and worship and praise and preach and every now and then get a group up to go to Shoney's or Cracker Barrell--and then have a B-B-Q at one of ya'lls houses--see how much fun it would be if ya'll lived here????

Sister! Ain't you never seen that episode of Star Trek where the bad guy captures Captain Kirk and makes a clone with him?? A Captain James T. Kirk "look alike!"

The "boys" at the coffee shop can try that same thing with you! We'll put you on a revolving table and spin you round and round just like they did to the Captain!

Except there is a slight "catch" to it! The clone turns out to have the opposite personality as the Captain--he turns out to be mean and sly and tricky. The clone is "beamed" back up to the Enterprise and tries to take over---but Spoke catches on and remedies the situation---

We could do the same thing with you--except it may turn out to be "bad news" for the coffee shop if your clone somehow stays behind--I can just picture the clone runnin' the shop---start chargin' for coffee--runnin' up the prices for the doughnuts(price gougin')--allowin' rock and roll on the juke box--loud and obnoxious music--that'd throw rsr's train of thought to pieces----rsr ain't no good with that Vulcan collar bone pinch like Mister Spook is!

Nope, too risky! You're right! Pour us another cup of coffee and let me clear my head so I can think---I'm sure another idea will soon come to mind!

No one sent me flowers! Are there some privileged people in the cafe? Who is perpetrating this scandalous indiscretion? I am sure Blackbirdie will uncover the plot, and we will get to the bottom of this deed. You all do realize this is giving more fodder for RSR to journalize this affair. Just who is pandering to affectionize this young woman?

Hello Everyone!!

Jim, thanks for starting the devotional thread. I will be sure to check it each day. I have already enjoyed reading your first couple devotional posts there.

Blackbird, if we ever move near Wesson, you can be sure that I would join your church. It sounds very much like the church I grew up in.

 

It was a good weekend, Sherrie. It rained Saturday and looked like it would rain all day Sunday, but Monday was clear and sunny. We didn't do very much, but it was nice to just relax a little. It was hard to go back to work today.

I enjoyed the pictures from the link you posted in the Member's Forum. If I can get our scanner working again, I will try to upload some pictures to share here.

 

Good morning everyone. Did everyone have a nice Memorial Day long weekend? (who are in the U.S. )

I forgot to take the flag down last night. I asked my son-in-law to do if for me so I wouldn't have to climb the ladder...but I guess He forgot.

We had a family barbecue. That was nice. Why is it that everything tastes better when it's cooked on a barbecue?

I always thought that when cooking outdoors while camping it was all the extra exercise that made the food taste so good. But, with a barbecue, I don't have to hike or climb or fish, I can just visit with the family. And when I visit my daughter and her family, they never make me cook, so it's not the clean stove Sherrie. I don't know. But it was sure good.

Just came in from working in the garden.. weeding around my baby veggie plants, and planting a new rose bush... It's sooooooooo nice outside.
