I don't know, Jim. I guess it is fun to race somebody. I would like to get over 1,000 but I can't tell you why it would really matter. [IMG]

I scored most of mine when I was a moderator. They made me make my policing quota.... [IMG]

    Cheers,

    Jim

PS. Just checked my files and I have preached 11,200 sermons over my lifetime, not counting weddings or funerals.

That is a lot of sermons. You should start posting each one on it own thread. You would be in first place in no time. Do you have each entire sermon or just notes or an outline?

Rod, I wrote quite elaborate sermon outlines from which I preached. They are stored in small 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 cardboard folders. Each is marked by title, text, date and place preached, and stored in file boxes. They cover 56 years.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Well Jim - you are ahead of me in posts - in number of sermons preached - in number of years preaching.

I've been preaching for 34 years in the fall.

I've never kept track of how many sermons I've preached - but preaching is my favorite part of the ministry.

And you can tell by the number at the bottom of this post that you are ahead of me.

To answer the post count number question - we're just having fun.

I've been preachin' now for almost 15 years--guess that makes Blackbird the rookie of the three of us!!

I've always considered myself smart enough to do anything I set my mind to do---preaching is what I set my mind to do best! Love it!

    Your Southern Baptist preachin' rookie,
    Blackbird

    56 years x 52 weeks = 2912 Sermons in cardboard folders.

    What about Devotions?

Sherrie, your numbers are off a little. Try 50 weeks x 4 sermons x 56 years = 11,200 sermons in all. I didn't always preach 4 times a week, but there were prolly special occasions in the lot and guest preaching along with my regular duties, and I was on radio for two years each morning. They are prolly counted in there too. I just looked at the total. First sermon was in 1945 and my last sermon was 2 weeks ago.

    Cheers,

    Jim
