I miss roller derby. Now there is a sport that cannot possibly be fake - though I would never suggest the Pro-Wrestling is!!!

Roller Derby was funny when the skater would get pushed out into the audience....the audience member; if they did not like the skater, would get some little digs in. Or you could watch those spectators get all excited.

Othertimes I do not know how they took those elbows and bunches at about 50 mph around the ring.

Sherrie Our oldest granddaughter's birthday is June 26. She will be 18. She is sweet and smart just like you.

Sue Ed told me that you posted a picture of us returning from Alaska...My question: Where did she get it? [IMG]

Jim, Blackbird, Dan I need assistance in organizing Ed's library. Give me some tips. I have worked in a library, used a library all my life, but trying to organize his books is confusing me.

You know they look better on the shelves if they are organized by size (fit better, too). If I organize by author then I have strange sizes together. I have tried to organize by subject. I do have shelves for Bibles, Children's Books, etc. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I am going to make one bedroom a library and study, but I don't think I can get all his books in one room. We have books in every room of the house and I do mean every room. We even have books in the garage.

Hello to all. I have been washing and washing clothes. How can two people dirty that many clothes in a week?

Then all our utility bills come in on the first of the month...so I have been busy paying those.

    Thankful,

The only advice I can give you on organizing Ed's library - is DON'T!!!

If Ed is anything like me - when my wife arranges anything that belongs to me - it may take me months to find it again.

There is a method to my[men's] madness - so please please leave well enough alone!!!

Some of you have been talking about ages....It used to not bother me to tell my age, but in the last year or so, it has. So I decided that my son will get younger as I get younger because the last time I told how old he was the person responded very kindly, "You must have had him when you were seven"

The trouble is...You can tell my age by looking at me.

Years ago I worked with a woman who lied about her age on her job application. She said that she was 10 years younger than she was and actually she could pass for ten years younger; however, she would slip at times and tell things that would have to make her older and when she got ready to retire...Well, you can imagine the problem she had then. She also created a problem for the rest of us. Boss asked that all employees present copies of their birth certificates for their personnel files and guess who was in charge of that? ME and we had nearly 400 employees at that time.

I was glad that I was not head of that department when she was employed.

Hi Betty! Moving all those books to one room is going to be a job. What about placing them by reference. A place for all Bibles, A place for all Dictionaries, a place for books of Commentaries, all atlas's together, etc.

Then all those books written say by Charles somebody together, and those by Henry someone together.

But I think followinghim probably would have a very good solution. Over 300 books all cataloged too. Whew! She is organized.

Betty: I am the paparazzi of the "Coffee Shop Gazette". I don't follow the rich and famous. I follow patrons of the Coffee Shop and snap candid photos of them.

Dan: Keep looking for a picture to post in your profile. I can guarantee you're not gonna want to use the one I post! [IMG]

Dan if you have a picture and would like to shorten it, and do not know how, send it to me email and I will do it in a second and then email it back. Or pm me and I will give you my snail mail address. Then you could send it to me to do, and I would mail it back and email you the shorter version.

I am wondering..one time you get your picture taken everything looks blue...next time everything looks red....wonder what color I should wear? Hey I am even going to put my make up on! Then I will look only 16! Instead of the dreaded 24! ;)

Shame Sue doesn't work for them...she does such a wonderful Job!

    Sherrie,

The pastor in me did mention earlier in this forum that I thought you only looked at the most, a year or two older than Abby.

Dan Todd--I never noticed the big "B" verses the little "b" thing in Blackbird's name!! Probably will make a big difference when I go to drawin' out of the my SBC Annuity Board retirement---

Sherrie--I promise ya--I had my wife look at your picture the other day and she said "Late teens! Maybe 20!!" But I believe that I've done "buried the hatchet" with ya about this age thing sometime ago?? No need to "resurrect old bones" heck--you're 24! Its hard to "bumfoodle" my wife and I have no reason not to believe her nor no reason not to believe you! When she said you looked 20ish--heck--I believe her!

Now that I know I'm on your "good side" and that you can trust me to keep a secret(this is me whisperin')--"soandsoandsoandsoandsoforthandsoondidwhatonwhatforum?youdon'tsay?why?when?where?howlong?flowerspostcardspresentsweneedtoknowseetheotherfellasonanothertreadconcernin's tartreksaythattheborgwillcomeandreadyourmindandassembilateyasotellmebeforetheycomesomeandrsrcankeepthisthinggoing!"

Now, did you get that? Cause I ain't no way gonna repeat it--so just trust me!

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird

    blackbird,

all my other books, literature, poetry, cookery, gardening, herbs etc are downstairs in the bookcases. my study is upstairs and my bookcases are full to overflowing [IMG] i will have to talk nicely to Rob and ask him to make me another one, tho where to put it I really don't know and I don't fancy moving again. Rob is the one who catalogues my books. I think he has got a bit behind recently tho...lol and I will have more to buy if I pass my exams and go on into the third year....

i submitted my dissertation proposal this week. got to wait now and see if it is accepted and who my supervisor will be. hhhmm all this chatting... i think i will have a coffee, decaf please and i wonder if there is any lemon meringue pie?

    be back later [IMG]

Dan, You are absolutely correct about men and their books being organized and just where they want it.

The trouble is we moved and we don't know where anything is. We just quickly put books on the shelves to get them unpacked.

I at least have Art Books in one place, religious books in one place, etc...

Ok, Followinghim, Tell me how you organized and cataloged your 300 books.

I used to have all my art books on computer and had them organized by type and author. I sold about half of them and I have never revised my list.
