Blackbird: I have always heard it is much harder to win a 'good' person to the Lord than a 'bad' person because the 'bad' person knows he is bad, you have to convince the 'good' person of that fact.

Morning Sherrie and Regulars!

Another beautiful 80 degree day with sunshine here. I painted outside all day yesterday and you should see all the freckles that popped out!

I will be outside again today, measuring and drilling over 100 holes in the boards I painted yesterday.

Anyone wanna help? :D

HAGD!
Sue

I painted five 1x12 boards to go all around my kitchen next to the ceiling. Today, I am measuring, drilling holes and inserting cup hooks. When hubby gets home tonight, he will anchor the boards to the wall.

I collect coffee mugs. I have over 100 of them so far, and I will hang them on the boards. That will be the border in my kitchen. It is a neat way to display them while keeping them out of the way and it adds to my kitchen's decor!

(When I look at each cup, it reminds me of the person who gave it to me and I say a prayer for them)

Good! I only drink decaf coffee once in a great while so you can get rid of that. My main drink is DDP. I go through about 2 cases a month!

If your customers didn't have such a good time lounging around at your Coffee Shop all day; they could mosey on over here and help me with this border!

More freckles today,
Sue

If it be possible, let this cup pass from me......Hmmmmmm prayer cups! Wot a marvellous idea.

You know, I have never seen a miserable person in our coffee shop. Most are not there for the coffee, but for the fellowship, even the unsaved have a need for fellowship. We can share the good things and the bad.

Good morning all. This was the original day of prayer for Brother Ed. Let's not forget to lift up his cup to-day.....and again on Friday. Blessings Brother Ed. If God be for us, who dare stand against us?

Cheers to all you good people. This morning's devotions were in Psalm 119:49-64...."Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope." Our hope is built in nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. All other hope is vain and vacuous; unintelligent and empty. Let us move along each day with our claims on His word and His promises...."This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me."

Cheers,

Jim

Sherrie, I usually drink water but you could talk me into some raspberry lemonade ice tea.

Sue, with a dozen cups of Sherrie's special blend in him, Blackbird could finish your project in 30 minutes.

DHK: "It wasn't too long after that (around 1987)
that I had my first personal computer.
It was a commodore 64. We had to use something
like a cassette tape to run it."

I got my first personal computer
also a Commodore 64 in 1984.
I bought a used system, didn't have a
cassette tape (it was just a plain
old cassette type like we used to copy
music upon from our records).
It did have a floppy disk drive.
I had to add ";8" to commands so the
floppy disk drive could be referenced
instead of the default cassette.

Then and now:
(then being the Commodore 64,
now being a HP 4th generation 586-type chip)

Clock speed:
then: probably 330-hertz
now: 1.3 Giga-hertz

Modem speed:
then: 300-bytes/sec
now: 100,000-bytes/sec (cable you know)

Hard Drive:
then: what is a hard drive?
now: 40-gig

Memory:
64-k
112-Meg

Yep, things change

But the same God is Lord of all!
Amen, somebody?

My first computer (1983) was a TI 99/4a 8K memory expandable to 32 with an expansion box.

Cassette tape for loading programs. Start it go on vacation come home and run your program. Heh Heh

5 1/4 floppy for storage. Can't remeber the K for disc, I think it was 750K but not sure.

100bps modem

Small tv for monitor. No color. digital characters.

Wrote many of our own programs in basic. Kind of like building a web page today. Type in the code and hope it works.

Now I have 366 with 56k modem and wanting more speed, just human; never satisfied.

Downloading pics and music then wasn't even an option.

Brother Ed, somebody in North Carolina is praying for you. {me}.

My first computer was an IBM XT. It only used four colors and was not internet capable. The next one was a Compaq presario, with internet, but only 126 mgs and a 4 gig HD. Now I have another Compaq, but this one is one of the 8000 series, with 80 gigs HD and 512 mgs. Works much better and faster.

Think I'll mosey over to the gossip table and start a rumor about the presbyterians, lol.

Jim....what a marvelous thing! A prayer cup. I just picked mine up. I have added Ed to it. And they are free folks...so be sure to pick one up before you leave. We still have plenty of colors left! Sue will have to add one to her collection.

Jim love the devotional too! Lets do that! Lets have a devotional everyday.

Hey Ernie! So glad you came by! So it took an old computer to bring you in. ;)

Hi Carol! Whats going on with you? Does your husband ever come to the baptistboard?

Morning Ed!

I am afraid that he is not going to get out of that surgery on Friday. :D

My wife took the picture and gave it too me as part of my birthday present. She is a lifelong Arkansas Razorback fan so I was surprised when she did it.
