We had a really bad week in West KY. We dont have a lot of snow removal equipment. We got 12 inches of snow Monday. Then four Tuesday. Wednesday it got down to minus 10. Right now freezing rain is coming down.

We had an honest-to-goodness Rocky Mountain hailstorm today. They are really something to behold.

It's been quite chilly here around NYC! Most of my time at the barn is working to thaw water buckets and pick the stalls of the frozen manure marbles (seriously, these things could be weapons!). The Long Island Railroad had some track damage to the cold and I believe there were track issues in the tunnels as well. Bottom line, it's brisk out there!! It will be nice today to finally get above 30!

The coldest day ever! Temperature records broken across the country by the 'Siberian Express' cold snap as Manhattan hits 1F

Global Warming....oh wait. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...even-record-low-temperatures-Eastern-U-S.html

Yep, global warming ... just like the computer models forecast. Extremes both directions. No snow and warm temperatures in much of Europe. Very cold here. Notice how the jet stream has gone so far south? All in the model forecasts.

While it's been a rough winter so far for people in the north-central and northeastern U.S., both December and January were actually warmer than average across the country overall.

The U.S. is having its sixth-warmest winter on record, according to data from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), which has records back to 1895.

For the first two weeks of February, while chilly weather enveloped the northeastern U.S. and record snow buried New England, practically the entire western half of the nation was seeing phenomenal, record warmth.

It gets cold when it gets warm. If you had a PhD or a government grant you would know this.

If I was a scientist that derived my income from a study of - lets say yellow paint makes houses more attractive - the last thing I would do is admit that there are some pretty homely yellow houses. I would be more inclined to say that the uglier the houses were the more attractive they became. I would predict a bloom of ugly yellow houses and cite every new yellow house built as evidence I was right.

It wouldn't take long for manufacturers of yellow vinyl siding and yellow paint to jump on the bandwagon. Celebrities would clad their mansions in yellow as a sign of solidarity and universities would plan courses to explain the phenomenon. Groups would form to support yellow houses and rail against those who would dare say, "Yellow houses are ugly." House bigots would be written off as being uninformed and obviously not intelligent or sophisticated enough to recognize the reality of yellow.

The only fact in all of this is the world has been in a constant state of change since God uttered the words, "Let there be....." God is acutely aware of what is happening to His creation. Science is left to extrapolate a conclusion from data they do not understand and a Creator they cannot comprehend.

If science can't tell me how much co2 a plant can absorb then an important parameter is left in question.

I bet all that snow is mighty pretty and all. Sometimes I wish we got some of that right here in California. But, then . . . . I wouldn't be able to go surfing today!

It's been too mild of a winter in western Washington state. They are saying they'll be all kinds of bugs this summer as a result.

I realize this isn't true for other parts of the country - the Eastern seaboard in particular is getting hammered.

Left the house this morning to an alert that we were getting 1-3" of snow and a trace of ice. Came home this afternoon to an alert that we are getting 3-6" and up to 1/10" of ice. Hmmm... At least it will make the snow pretty again!

:laugh::laugh:

I really don't dislike her. It would be silly. She's been a lot more successful than I have.
