The Commander in Chief is Killing our Marines

If the draft is ever brought back, why do you worry?:tongue3:

And on the second note.....when have you EVER defended this country in all of your posts?

Many times I've said that I love this country. I fully support the p[rinciples of freedom on which it was founded. What I have argued against is combining church and state because I believe that's harmful to both and more so to the church. I also don't support all of the wars we have engaged in. I didn't support the Viet Nam war nor do I support the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq under GW Bush. I'm a Democrat. That doesn't say anything negative about my patriotism or my Christian beliefs contrary to what many here say.

I believe in supporting my country through exercise of my vote and I can't remember a major election I have missed certainly not a Presidential election. I've voted in 10 of them. Have you been that consistent in voting? I believe we should spend less money on our military and more on our people. Let the British, Germans, Japanese, etc. carry their part of the burden of maintaining world peace. I believe that's all we should do and not try to remain world supremacy which was the Neo-Cons stated objective.

I came from middle class roots, got a good education and have worked as a professional for about 35 years. I've paid my taxes and supported helping the poor. I believe that ours is a nation of emmigrants but don't believe in allowing illegal emmigrants to stay here.

Most of all I hate what the Christian Right/Republican party has done to the image of Christ's church in America among those we are trying to evangelize.

What do you have to say for yourself that's of value?

Only in your mind has the so called Christian Right done damage to the image of Christ's church in America. You are spewing the same old tired argument that many leftest Christian's use. Look out Tidy, your "Would Jesus Bomb Anyone?" bumper sticker is fading.

I'm not in favor of these new rules of engagement. That said, I bristled when the left on here talked about Bush killing our troops, and I bristle at the right saying Obama is doing this.

I'm one of the three people on here who at least try to be consistent. Off hand, I can't think of the other two :tongue3:

Many times I've said that I love this country.(Yeah, but only if it was communistic.) I fully support the p[rinciples (SIC)of freedom on which it was founded. (Wow. Could have fooled me. As well as a lot of others here if they had the eggs to admit it.)What I have argued against is combining church and state because I believe that's harmful to both and more so to the church. (Talk about a nonsequetur, no one that I have seen have even hinted about this.)I also don't support all of the wars we have engaged in. (No kidding. I would say you are, and have never been eligible for, these wars. They don't take 14 year old girls sweetheart.I didn't support the Viet Nam war nor do I support the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq under GW Bush.(So I guess that you were as happy as all the Islamic people dancing in the streets as shown on T.V.) I'm a Democrat. (Nooooooooooo. Really? See, that's why I think I'm being 'Punked',) That doesn't say anything negative about my patriotism or my Christian beliefs contrary to what many here say.(They don't have to, you do that all by yourself.)

I believe in supporting my country through exercise of my vote and I can't remember a major election I have missed certainly not a Presidential election. I've voted in 10 of them. Have you been that consistent in voting? (Well, gee, if you have been in 10 presidential votings, and each term is 4 years, and since according to '10' votings, you must at that time been 21 and not 18, you must be around , let's see.....4x10=40, + 21 to begin the vote, you must be at least 61. Or older.)(See below)I believe we should spend less money on our military and more on our people. Let the British, Germans, Japanese, etc. carry their part of the burden of maintaining world peace.(Ahhhh, see? According to my math, I was 10-20 years off. My bad. See below.)I believe that's all we should do and not try to remain world supremacy which was the Neo-Cons stated objective.(Again, and again, and again....your proof of this statement?)

I came from middle class roots, got a good education (obviously it did not take)and have worked as a professional for about 35 years.(I'm not going to touch that one for a million bucks.) I've paid my taxes and supported helping the poor. I believe that ours is a nation of emmigrants but don't believe in allowing illegal emmigrants to stay here.

Most of all I hate what the Christian Right/Republican party has done to the image of Christ's church in America among those we are trying to evangelize.

What do I say for myself that is of value?
For one, I am truly sorry that I thought you were a 14 year old girl in need of medical and psychological treatment, on her daddy's computer, trolling to entertain yourself.
Second, I am truly sorry that I not only engaged in discourse with a senile old lady, but am also sorry that I was not smart enough to recognize your illness before this. For this I apologize.
Now I understand why you always equated Bush with Hitler (Mussolini, Tojo).
I have great respect for what your husband did during WW II.
I have great respect for the sacrifices you made during the Great Depression.
If you would just tell us what assisted living home you are in, I am sure most of us would try to help out the best we could.

There is an old saying which presumably is American in origin:

War is hell. It always has been.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki are two witnesses to that fact when we incinerated almost a quarter million people (counting those who later died of radiation poisoning), men women and children.

Not to mention the Berlin and Dresden incendiary bombings by the Allies which caused fire storms killing almost all of the non-military population.

Just for the record, I don't view these acts as war crimes (as has been circulating the web lately), but as acts of survival to demoralize the citizenry and turn them against their leaders.

When human beings are down to survival instinct there are no rules of war, then, now or ever. Those who are claiming otherwise will probably find out this fact soon enough.

I believe this kind of war of survival may be coming again - the source? Radical Islam, they are vowed to destroy both Israel and America (have we forgotten their name for us: "the Great Satan")?
