The Contextual definition of Faith in Romans 4:16-23

Gospel repentance is TURNING FROM YOUR OWN WORKS in order to satisfy God's demands for eternal life and simply TRUSTING - RESTING in the finished works of Jesus Christ as your ONLY hope for eternal life.

That requires acknowledgement that you are a sinner, condemned under the Law of God (Rom. 3:19-23) and all your works "come short of the glory of God" and thus feel your need of a Savior and receive the good news of the Gospel, and rest upon the good news of the gospel as YOUR ONLY HOPE of salvation. This is obedience to the Gospel! Refusing to acknowledge you are sinful and all your works come short of the glory of God is disobedience to the gospel. Attempting to contribute, assist, participate by YOUR WORKS in obtaining eteral life is repudiation of the FINISHED work of Christ and repudiation of the SUFFICIENCY of his satisfaction of ALL GOD's RIGHTEOUS demands against you.

Once, SAVED, then living for Christ is living in DEPENDENCE upon the power of the indwelling Spirit of God to serve God through obedience to his commandments NOT TBTAIN eternal life but to GLORIFY GOD by your life and experience the blessing of salvation here and now and eternal rewards to come. We serve out of LOVE not out of fear that we will lose what we never could obtain by our works.

The true people of God are those who OBEY the gospel in this manner and SERVE God in this manner and all other are unbelievers and self-righteous religious hypocrits.

I got forceful, I stopped doubting completely, I feared God, I humbled myself and confessed that I was a sinner and hated all my sins. I put God before all things and all people.

I started to do things Jesus said, like forgive others because God will not forgive me unless I forgive others. I got married. I tried to make myself the seed that fell along the good soil. I kept knocking until the door was answered. I would never give up or stop searching no matter what or how long it took.

Tell me, if there is nothing you can do to be the person God saves, then why are there so many who say they believe in God and Jesus and keep sinning as there has been no change? The Bible says they are deceived and liars.

The Jews had the works of the law to be saved by, we are no longer saved by the works of the law.

Again about the Pharisees, they did NOT repent. They were the only ones who did not repent and prepare the way for Jesus in their lives.

That is what you are, you are a Pharisee, refusing to repent before Jesus to come into your heart.
