Senate kicks off historic Trump impeachment trial at the hands of a traitorous set of elite globalists

Against a man who works tirelessly for his country without pay to bring America back to a place of honor and respect.

From THE VERY DAY OF HIS ELECTION he and his family, friends and many he has appointed have suffered an outrage of fake news, lies, false narratives with accusations of scandal (dossier) beyond any other in the White House.

Hopefully witnesses will be brought forth to force them under oath to "take the fifth" or reveal the truth.

Rather than a "stain" let the "asterisk" become a Badge of Honor Forever for President Trump but something else for those who prepared it

So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai.

Treason. Plain and simple treason

Treason? I think that's a bit much. We don't have a monarch, so treason is only against the country, not against a person. Using constitutional procedures is pretty far from treason. Using them inappropriately is obviously improper, but working within the constitutional structure is, even if done in bad faith, not treason.

Is this political? Definitely. Hypocritical? Absolutely. Cynical? Without a doubt. Biased? Most certainly.

It is going against the country. The Democrats are actively working to remove a duly elected president. They want to reverse the results of the will of the country.

Duly elected? Yes. Legitimate? Yes.

Will of the country? That depends on how you take it. He didn't exactly have a mandate with the loss of the popular vote. But that's beside the point.

Regardless of their intentions, they are operating within the constitutional framework. Having impure motives doesn't automatically invalidate the process itself. Besides, even if Trump were removed, Pence would become President. He was duly elected, too.

Even still, reversing the results of the will of the country isn't treason in and of itself. An armed coup would be treason. Using the constitutional framework is not treason, even if it is a complete sham.

It is a sedicious act to try to undo the will of the people. The crime is against The People.
It is an illegal attempt to circumvent The COTUS

It is an attempt to undo the will of the Electoral College in some sense. Beyond that, it's hard to state with any sense of certainty what "the will of the people" even is.

Besides, the system is going to work anyway. Unless some incredibly overwhelming evidence emerges, Trump will not be convicted, and he will remain in office.

If that's the case, this is a political stunt at the most. If evidence emerges to prompt Republicans to convict, then it was a proper exercise of power.

It was a strategically stupid decision to impeach him, but it isn't going to accomplish much of anything. If they wanted to make a point, the House should have just censured him and shifted focus to the election.

My preference is to have 51 vote to acquit Trump right off the bat, and call the whole thing a sham, but if going to real trial, make sure Joe and Hunter get the first sophenas!

The big problem is that it was strictly politics on dems side, pay back for Hilliary losing, and those 2 articles of Impeachment were both bogus!

And, if that's all it is, the process will result in the President's acquittal, and the Democrats will pay the price in November.

I trust the constitutional process. The founding fathers built enough protection in it to ensure that an outright coup wouldn't be possible in all but the most extreme circumstances (which I don't think we will see).

We didn’t elect another ingrown politician to fix problems that have plagued this country for decades... they’ve had their chance.
We elected a business executive that knows how to prioritize and get thing done.

Over the next few weeks we will hear about how Trump didn’t do things the way a seasoned politician was supposed to do them. We will listen to griping by diplomats, pandering lawyers, and sleazy politicians laying out what they say were illegal actions.

Trump was elected because he was a successful outsider and saw the problems with the system, and said he’d fix them.
...and he’s doing it.

He didn’t act like the politicians wanted him to act.
Status quo, a slow move to the left, one more step, and another...

Those ingrown politicians are as angry as hornets about it.

They dont even have legal articles. The articles contain no crime.

I seem to recall Republicans doing something similar with Obama to imply he was not a legally born US Citizen....both parties waste time on these stunts.

It'd be nice if both parties stopped wasting times jockeying for position with each other and started focusing on representing the best interests of the people they are supposed to......Represent.

I'm fairly certain that Democrats / Republicans are both just taking turns playing Good cop / Bad cop....both just represent big money, and both parties just pull these stunts to distract us from the fact that neither of them are actually doing much to help average Americans (apparently the billionaires need help more than average Joe's?).

The point is not that the coup will be successful. The point is the Democrats attempted it.

Did the Republicans spend any floor time debating Obama's citizenship? If they did, I missed it. What they do on their is own time is their business.
