2 Tim. 4:6-8
"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
The crown of righteousness is given to all who overcome by faith in the Blood of the Lamb.
Rev. 3:11-13
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
"Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
The crown of righteousness can be lost!
It's true that no man can pluck you out of His hand, the problem is that we pluck ourselves out of His hands by not holding fast (holding our faith) to the end.
We must HOLD FAST and guard our faith or we will not make it! The Scripture is filled with these warnings. Don't be a fool believing you have no responsibility to hold fast your faith. Satan is not a man and he will take that crown if you let him.
"Hold fast" is "krateo" in the Greek and means to hold tenaciously.
1 Peter 5:8-9
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world."
