I have no idea if any of this is true. Scripture does not give these dates, they are assumed through extra biblical historical sources, which are not authoritative. You are in essence saying we have credible historical sources that Jesus was crucified Thursday. Yet very few believe it and hold to that tradition, now or historically, and it contradicts the internal evidence in the NT. Only Scripture is inspired, and only Scripture is needed for this debate.

Is Sunday the third day since the handing over of Jesus? Thursday makes Saturday the third day. Thursday is not the Preparation Day.

No, Saturday was the second day since, Luke 24:21.
That Thursday was not the Preparation day, that Preparation day was following evening, Mark 15:42.

They bought the spices Friday just before sundown, and left early the first day to anoint the body (actually the could have purchased early in the morning Sunday, just prior to sunrise). But for those who believe Friday was wide open, how does this make sense?

This is very confusing. Why would they not anoint the body on Friday, the same day they supposedly bought spices? They had all day!

Yet Scripture tells us they rushed over on Sunday to anoint the body. This make perfect sense, if they were rushed for time on Friday just prior to the Sabbath. But if crucified Wednesday, they could only find time 3.5 days later to anoint the body? That doesn't seem a little strange to you?

You said he died on Fri. We know it was late afternoon. They hurried to get Him in the tomb before sunset. The arrangements were made hurriedly. Did they buy the spices before the Crucifixion expecting Him to die?, Did they ask customer service to stay over at Spice and More on the Passover after dark? Did the go to the all-night spice store Saturday night after 12:00?

Here's the Wednesday view, where they interpret the heart of the earth as the grave and need 72 hours of grave time. It is from the jewish perspective of days starting in the evening. In this view he's actually placed in the grave just prior to the 1st night and raises just after the 3rd day. But it accounts for the full 72 hours, 3 days and 3 nights.

When I believed heart of the earth was a reference to the grave, I liked this view, despite it's problems.

Yes, Jesus was gone when they arrived. He had completed the three days and nights after sunset Sat night and arose during the night

That is very easy to answer if you know scripture

• Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

• Luke 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

There were two sabbaths that week. Jesus was crucified on Wednesday and put in the tomb at twilight. Thursday was the Sabbath (high day) and the women rested on that day. They bought the spices and prepared them on the Friday and rested on the weekly sabbath, at the end of which the ressurection took place.

I'm not sure that answers the question. You say they spent most of Friday doing nothing, and ending up waiting 3.5 days to finally anoint the body on Sunday morning? Instead of preparing the spices and anointing the body sometime Friday, having the entire day? Does that seem logical to you? Sure seems bizarre to me.

Also, not a single mention of observing 2 sabbaths in all four gospels.

Actually not a problem either way. We know Joseph bought linens after Christ's death. Why couldn't the ladies buy spices during that time?

Also, we're told the ladies left at twilight in the morning and bought spices. From twilight to sunrise is a good 45 minutes. Doesn't seem a problem to me, not as big as the problem of the ladies sitting around all day Friday and not anointing the body. That is a huge problem for Wednesdayers and Thursdayers.

I would be fine with Wednesday, used to embrace it, until I learned the problems abound, problems you don't seem to have an answer to.
