Pat Robertson is warning the town of Dover, Pennsylvania that God is out to get them, since they voted out the school board that was forcing Intelligent Design on the local public schools.

I especially loved this quote: "I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city," Robertson said on his daily television show broadcast from Virginia, "The 700 Club."

"And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because he might not be there," he said."

Funny how the Rev. Robertson never seeks to call down the wrath of God on, say, people who exploit the poor, people who are too selfish and acquisitive to look after "the least of these" in society, "holy folks" whose religiosity is all for show, corrupt politicians, etc. Evidently he's never read the OT prophets. Or he has a reading comprehension problem with same.

BTW, didn't 'Cowpat' say that the great disaster would befall Dover yesterday; clearly his prophecy hasn't come true and we all know what the OT says to do with prophets whose prophecies don't come true, don't we?

==Robertson is confused. Intelligent design is not Biblical, it is compromise.

I am just happy he didn't call on the CIA to begin an assassination campaign in Dover.

Maybe we can get him to come visit you Matt.

"I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city"----------------------------------------------------

The city clearly overracted to what they thought was an intrusion of religion into there city. Pat never said anything was goint to happen as you can see above. He just said that if you are going to reject something just becasue you think it is christian then don't expect God to come running when you need him because you kicke him out. I think he has a point.

I think you'll find that they voted Pat's version of God out of their city - which is rather different.

Pat Robertson needs to shut up and stop making a fool of himself and, unfortunately, staining the reputation of a lot of other Christians toward those who don't understand that all conservative Christians don't agree with his foolish statements.

Today missionaries are being persecuted around South America, especially in Venezuala, thanks to Robertson's comments on Chavez. Way to go Pat! I heard some good advise once that should be passed on to PR - "Take advantage of every opportunity you have to shut up"

Ever notice how many of them start with good intentions and end up out of touch with God and in their own little world? A big dose of God would give them some humility.

Yeah that is a real problem, they even get persecuted because of what Jesus said too.

I remember another guy who ran his mouth like pat and cause alot of problems with the aurthorities. He kept point things out in a very public way and irritated them. His name was John the Baptist.

Bunyon ,
The difference between John the Baptist is that John set out to serve God.
Pat on the other hand is using the Christian faith to serve himself.

He is not my flavor, and he is not perfect, but he is not the devil either. We take way to much liberty in attacking one of God's preachers.
