Isn't Pat Robertson an ordained Southern Baptist Minister.Originally posted by rsr:
I wouldn't say the SBC funds the 700 Club; I'm sure Robertson pays for the air time, just as he does on TBN and other networks.
It's his presence on a Baptist network that I object to.
Excellent point! My thoughts exactly!Originally posted by gb93433:
Ever notice how many of them start with good intentions and end up out of touch with God and in their own little world? A big dose of God would give them some humility.

Ahem, Mr. MatthewHenry,
Before I was married I was what you refer to as a "Penetecostal nutjob." Please don't lump all Pentecostals like that. I am a Baptist now mainly b/c my dh said if we got married we would be Baptists. I had no problem changing churches. My beliefs didn't really differ too much from the Baptists. The church I was a part of was conservative and fairly calm in our worship--no pew jumping allowed! lol Yes, there are a few differences but to me they are not that significant.
There are some "Baptist nutjobs" out there as well, but I wouldn't be so disrespectful as to say they needed to be locked up until the rapture.
Please have some respect for your other brothers and sisters in Christ--and yes Penetecostals firmly teach salvation only through the blood of Christ. Seems to me, that is what is taught in my Baptist church as well.
Take care.
My sin nature really wants to take advantage of this easy shot here...Originally posted by Songbird:
