I would argue that the thief on the cross that repented, had been born again prior to his acknowledging of the Truth

I posit that he was a saint that sinned the 'sin unto death', i.e., a capital crime.

Okay then man doesn't perform spiritual acts prior to being made spiritually alive.
They can repent of their sins...they're not "spiritually alive" before repentance and acceptance of Christ. You twist scripture to meet your soteriology...I don't. sorry.

Salvation repentance is spiritual, hence requires spiritual life.

Since one is only spiritually alive when they are in Christ and you are only in Christ if you repent, which means you trust in Him, that logically requires that you repent before you have spiritual life.

Again repentance is the result of spiritual life, no spiritual life, no repentance as far as salvation is concerned.

So you have people saved before they are in Christ or even believe in Him.
Repentance comes with the New Spiritual life Christ gives one when He saves them. Prior to spiritual life being given, man is dead in sin, no spiritual life, so no spiritual activity.

You want people saved before they even believe. That fact that your view is not a biblical position does not seem to bother you.

Humbling oneself and admitting you have no way of saving yourself is saying you have no spiritual ability. And it is just such a humble admission that is required when you repent and trust in Christ Jesus.

Unless you respond to the truth in the humility of faith, you will never experience God’s grace of salvation. Over and over throughout Scripture we see that one must believe in order to receive forgiveness of sins.

People cant believe until they are saved, otherwise man is dead. Believing, Repenting are evidences of Spiritual life. Before that, man is dead to God, no life in him, sorry

So you have just confessed that you do not believe the bible. So what do you believe?

Rom 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Rom 10:10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Eph 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Act 16:30 and after he brought them out, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Act 16:31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

Come on BF now you are just being stubborn. I have quoted scripture that shows your view is in error, yet you keep repeating the same thing over and over as if saying it makes it right. Since your view is not biblical where are you getting it from?

One needs to be alive to perform a spiritual act such as believing on Christ, One believes because they had been born of God 1 Jn 5:1

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

I agree those that believe that Jesus is the Christ are born of God. Now I am quite sure you will agree that those that are born of God are saved.
Rom 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Notice the conditions confess and believe which results in you will be saved. Note it does not say your saved so you will confess and believe.

What did John tell us in his gospel?
Joh 20:31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

If one does not believe in Christ Jesus then they are not born of God are they. This verse does not support your view since your view does not fit with the context of the bible.

BF even the one verse that you have used to support your view does not support your view. Since you will not trust scripture what do you trust or rather whom?

Before activity there must be life. The act of believing comes from having life, having been born again Spiritually. 1 Jn 5:1

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

Just like loving those born of God one needs life first, its an spiritual activity like believing.
