The Dominion Mandate...Finished, or still in Effect?

In a recent article,1 I pointed out that God’s primeval dominion mandate is still in effect for all nations. As a reminder, that mandate—originally given to Adam and Eve—is as follows: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Genesis 1:28). Such dominion and subjugation of the earth would entail developing a large population, and then much serious research into the systems and processes of the earth and its inhabitants, as well as the control and dissemination of this research to other men and women who can develop and apply it, all carried out as a divine stewardship under God. This project would eventually involve men and women serving in many different occupations—in fact, every honorable human occupation can well be included in this mandate.2

I think that it is still in effect. A lady told me that the coyotes, racoons, and Canadian geese were in our parking lot at work before we were and I told her that we had dominion. I told her that I was worried about her around such nasty critters that might be rabid or dangerous.

Postmillennial writers are quick to comment on this. How does your end-time view influence your thoughts on this?

That is the idea. We are to occupy until he comes as good stewards in every sphere of life.
Can you think of other examples from scripture of man being successful or failing to do this?

Just as long as we do not get into creation worship, Mother earth, green movement etc!

We all fall short, but that does not mean we are to stop trying to be good stewards. And we also should inform others which seem to be building on the foundation of Christ with wood and straw.

How about in Church?

How about at the grocery store?

Galatians 6 King James Version (KJV)
6 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

IIRC, I believe maybe Amos and another prophet? Speak about managing creation in a faithful God honoring way?

Will try to remember and look up for later

Yes... People had grown too comfortable living at ease Zion.....they called to repent and obey God.
Excellent parallel.
