Why does the Electoral College meet in December? Rejecting votes | wusa9.com

Good video there, this can happen even if a candidate has 270 or more votes. It is the last stop to prevent an unwanted candidate to become POTUS. A single rep and a single senator can object to the electoral college results, then they can vote on whether to reject or accept the electoral college votes.

How dies the Senate get in on this? I thought it went to the House and they voted one vote per state. Right now the GOP has congressional majorities in 27 states vs. 23 for the Dems so Trump would win.

That is a different process when any candidate does not have 270 votes or more.

The congress can simply reject the electoral college vote COMPLETELY, and vote for themselves on who should be president, even if one candidate won the electoral college, congress has the power to reject them and pick someone else. Congress has the final say, then can either accept the electoral college vote or reject it and have their own vote.

Now I think if they can not agree on a vote using that process, it goes to the house and each state gets one vote.

For this unusual procedure which few seem to know about, It just takes one house member and senate member to object together on the electoral college vote, then congress must vote to either accept of reject, if it is to reject, then they can do this very unusual vote with both houses, and if that does not select someone, it goes to the house.

Well, is that what happened in 1824? Let me say that I liked John Adams more than Thomas Jefferson and I liked John Quincy Adams more than Andrew Jackson.

The congress has the final say, they can totally reject the voters choices. Our government is a Republic, not a democracy. Our votes must have their consent to be approved.
The objection process, in order for it to work, both senate and house have to reject together, if its a tie, like each side votes for their partisan guy, then it goes by the Electoral College original vote of 270 or more. So no way would the house not vote for Biden, and I have no clues on who the Senate would vote for. It is more of a last stand in case something very seriously was wrong with the candidate recognized by both house and senate together.

Let me tell you, Biden is a good for nothing and so were both his sons. He will touch off both a recession and a war. He and Harris will probably have a fist fight at the inauguration.

Biden in an interview said if he and Harris start disagreeing, he will resign and let her be the POTUS.
Biden not even sure, did he really want to be POTUS, or just be used to get Trump out.

He is real close to Soviet communists the last 45 years. They were his piggy bank at the council for a livable world, funded by Russia. He was introduced to the trough by Al Gore Sr.
