The famous Biblical example of partial obedience, was when King Saul, failed to follow the LORD’s complete instructions concerning Amalek in 1 Samuel 15:3.
In this action, Saul did what “he thought” should be done!
And according to Verse 20, Saul thought that he was following the LORD’s instructions, but he wasn’t.
--------------------------------------------------
Today, God’s men are making the same mistake that Saul made, by way of pragmatism: Doing things their way, because it looks like it’s working.
The worst example partial obedience is when a pastor is told to “preach the Word”, but refuses because he knows that it will run some of the families out of his Church.
We as pastors need to leave the nickels and noses in God’s hands, and simply follow His instructions, regardless of how things make look to us.
