No, and I did work in a hospital for 5 years then 15 years as a medical technologist, but sure I believe you. Was their liver destroyed?
You can also kill your liver and yourself by overdosing on Tylenol, which I never take.
I have seen dried up bones showing inside a persons rotting diabetic foot in a man laying in his hospital bed. You could look right inside his mummified foot. Poor guy, serious uncontrolled diabetic. Some of these older patients are so scared to go into hospital cause they think they know what the doctors are going to do, like amputate their limbs, so they wait and wait too long, and then they do go in and get it cut off.

Some things just are not simple. Some things just are not black and white. I thought they were when I was younger. And then God saw fit to take me on a trip to see some things.
