HOW so?
I just showed you that it is completely Scriptural.

Our friend is not interested in the truth, his main work here is making continual baseless allegations. I like what happened when former Protestant Dr. Scott Hahn described going to Mass for the first time, he actually knew what was going on because he had read what was happening many times in his bible.

The Mass is the Holy Scriptures come to life! It is sad that people like our friend here have not experienced it and only condemn it. He will have to answer for his blasphemy to God Almighty.

I've been to a Mass on several occasions. What strikes me most is the number of mindless responses people give and then afterward people wait for the little light to go from red to green as they line up for confession to the residing priest(s) in the booth.
Before and After you can find people kneeling at a shrine for Mary or you can walk through the cathedral to find other saints you can kneel to and pray to them for special assistance.

I don't think you ever attended a Mass. Why do I say that? Because going to the confessional NEVER happens after Mass. That would only happen BEFORE the Saturday evening Mass, never after.

I admit it's been a few years. I also admit the cathedral is a beautiful building.
That being said, I am quite sure the booths were open after the mass and after everyone went up for communion.

Is Jesus sacrificial atonement a license? Hardly. It is an act of love that is greater than anything ever done by man.
Question: Is Jesus the Sovereign Ruler of All Creation?
My answer is...Yes. I hope you answer the same.
Question: Does the Supreme Ruler have the right to choose whatever he wills?
My answer is...Yes. I hope you answer the same.
Question: Is there anything in humanity that makes humans deserving of being Redeemed of their sin and rebellion?
My answer is No. I hope you answer the same.
Question: If God chose to Redeem one human and no other, would God be a God of love, even though God justly condemned all others because of their rebellious sin?
My answer is...Yes. I hope you answer the same.
Question: Would you go to that one person and tell them the Supreme King gave you a license and we all hate that God did such a thing?
My answer is...No. I would not. I hope you answer the same.

God, from the very moment of Adam's fall revealed his Supreme Right to choose to either Redeem or to justly condemn. When God chose to Redeem Adam and Eve by the blood of a sacrifice, he established covenantal relationship with men. He chose with whom He would be in covenant and with whom he would not have covenant. He elected to have mercy upon whom he wills and not to grant mercy to whom He wills. He elected to extend grace to whom He wills and to not extend grace to whom He wills. Such is the authority He has as the Supreme Ruler.
Will you or I blame God and cry that He did not give us a choice? Do we, who are stained by our rebellious sins even dare to accuse God when He acts according to His Supreme Right to choose?

Romans 9:14-24 What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God’s part? By no means! For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.

You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory— even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?

This is a great post demonstrating the horrific nature of the God of Calvinism, who arbitrarily chooses to save some while creating others solely for the purpose to take pleasure in destroying. This God is nearly indistinguishable from the God of Islam, who too acts with pure will.

It is the complete antithesis of the God of Christianity, who loved man so much He became one.

This Calvinist concept of a God who acts arbitrarily with pure will is demonstrably false by virtue of the incarnation of Jesus Christ, who came to give man the ability to become sons of God and thereby live with Him in all eternity.

Salvation is offered to all through the Person of Jesus Christ.

This is Christianity 101.

Well on the other side, I myself have been to a few Baptist services mainly at truck stops led by a chaplain. The people have been nice and I have enjoyed worshipping with those folks even though I am particularly fond of the liturgical way of worship.

I don't have a problem with a liturgy, when truth is actually shared (not foolish tradition that is empty of scripture). I think the mindless response becomes a routine that is basically meaningless to the vast majority of members, based upon how they live their daily lives.
This is the same with Creed's and Catechism. When it expresses truth, it can benefit. The New City Catechism is a good example. The RCC catechism is a bad example.

Enjoy your liturgy, but discern it's flaws and false doctrines.

Christianity 101 is NOT that taught by the RCC, as its Apostate!

They place a primary emphasis on the blasphemous Mass, and yet barely teach from the scriptures themselves!

I have found that many Roman Catholics and Lutherans are nearly illiterate in their reading and understanding scripture. They just trust the mass with no questions asked. Those who do question often leave that church.

What flaws and false doctrines? You mean having an OT reading, an Epistle reading, and a Gospel reading is a flaw and a false doctrine? Reciting the Our Father prayer is a flaw and a false doctrine? Reciting either the Apostles Creed or the Nicene Creed is a flaw and false doctrine? Having a sermon is a flaw and a false doctrine? Having the true Holy Communion is a flaw and a false doctrine? Sorry, but none of those things are flaws or false doctrines.

The flaws and false doctrines however resides in a faith tradition that has as it's highlight of worship the pulpit instead of the altar, a type of worship started by one man named John Smythe - that is where the aberration lies. It is a concept totally at odds with the way Christians worshipped for over 1500 years.

No, you are the folks with the made up and false stuff, not us. Our worship comes directly from the Holy Writ - every bit of it!

Tell me genius, what parts of the Holy Mass are unscriptural? And why pray tell do you trust the ideas of one man who didn't come up with them until the late 16th and early 17th century?

You and I are so wretchedly incapable that neither you nor I have the capacity to climb in the boat. You and I are like a total paraplegic who cannot do anything to save himself. That person who comes along must do ALL the work to save you.

STOP glorifying your SELF. You and I are complete utter wretches. We are incapable of saving our selves. As long as we hold a glimmer of prideful idea that we could climb in the boat, we utterly deny the glorious work of God in saving us.
I admit my utter wretchedness and incapacity. Do you?
And YOU would have us believe that God has to "rape" us in order to gain our love.
The God of Scripture gives US that choice - otherwise it's not love at ALL.

God gives us the grace to believe to climb into the boat. He doesn't drag us into the boat, kicking and screaming against our will. This is the God of Scripture - the God of Judaism and Christianity.

The god you've invented is a monster . . .

You guys are so wacked out you even rebelled from the original rebellion. What makes you think you now have "the truth" instead of the original rebels?

Because the Mass is all about the sacrifice as is the whole concept of Christianity. St. Paul himself tells us to look toward the crucified Christ, that is where true salvation lies.

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me" (Galatians 2:20).

"If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:5-11).

It's all about the crucified Christ, the altar of sacrifice, not the pulpit! We have it at our worship and you don't - such a sad thing for you.

Unless God grants to you a change heart and mind, lost sinners will keep rejecting Jesus to save them!
