I think what you have pointed out is the very strength of the FFF. Pious, self-serving, self-righteousness does not last long on the FFF. It cannot stand the full light of day that is shined on it.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the BB. Self-serving self-righteousness not only survives in this type of atmosphere, it thrives. :(

:D Some might interpret that statement as being self-righteous. :D

I see no reason why self-righteousness shouldn't be just as common over there as anywhere else.

Because it is publicly exposed and battered into submission instead of being given Administrator status. [IMG]

And the batterers never display any self-righteousness beating down the upstart? ;)

It's been my experience that people who take a great interest in online debates generally don't have poor self-esteem. I'm by no means excluding myself in this generalization, although I've been working on it. [IMG]

I have posted on both forums for a while. I used to post here but there were some moderators who were overly heavy handed, who weren't impartial and then some others who were ok. I left for nearly a year, or maybe a little longer, and then came back in Sept or October of last year. I usually get along with all of the moderators/administrator and will admit when I am wrong. Most will tell you that from firsthand experience. But, I believe I will be leaving here soon because of one administrator in particular and staying with the FFF and HolyCall.com. At this particular point in time, I'm waiting to find out what action board administration/owners will take. So, if'n I don't see ya'll again, it's been great posting here!

We are not talking abut beating an upstart, we are talking about publicly exposing self-righteousness. And if one of the other members displays such, he too will be called to account for it. Nobody is exempt, unlike some forums I know.

To be fair, considering this board also uses Google ads, I quite often find links right on this board promoting homosexuality, witchcraft, and all manner of evil, depending on what the topic of a certain thread might be. Be careful not to throw stones in a glass house.

Remind me. Just how much were we charged to join this forum? Oh, it's FREE? I think those who host this site have the right to moderate what's on it.

It's true that, at times, unkind comments are made on this board. But this board is nothing like the FFF was a few years ago when I left it. From your posts, it sounds like it's gotten worse.

There are some good folks at the FFF. I had a chance to sort out some of the junk I was brainwashed from Hyles. Nevertheless, I wouldn't recommend that board to anyone.

We are Christians. We are under the Lordship of Christ. We are not free to do whatever or say whatever. Why any Christian would object to "censorship" of filth is beyond me.

No Christian on the FFF objects to the deletion of filth. In fact we just took a vote to appoint moderators on the new forum to do just that.

Did I just see a straw man go up in flames? :D

I have a suggestion, why dont we name a place, say the car park of a central hotel, each forum can send a group, and we can punch it out to see which forum is the best? [IMG]

Now, Ben, why would we want to do that? Each board can and probably will survive, despite what some here would wish on the FFF. It was very helpful in my recovery from abuse at the hands of ifbX churches and pastors. In fact, I could say that it's helped a lot of people. All I can say is that in ifbX churches and on the BB in the case of some ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY!

Well AVL1984, sometimes when there is a conflict it is simply better to just go and have a fist fight and deal with it properly, considering some of the angst going on, lets just cut to the chase and get it settled once and for all?

Lets face it, we have turned the cheek once, now it is time for some Eye for an Eye    ;)

It's gonna be hard for me to fight myself, but I'll try! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Just like Jim Carrey in "Liar Liar" in the scene where he's in the bathroom banging his head against the wall. The man asks him what he's doing, and he says he's beating the doodie out of himself! Hilarious!
