2 Cor 5 is not about dying and going to heaven. It is about receiving the self same thing as someone else in due time.

Remember that Paul was answering questions from the Thessalonians about their deceased loved ones, who they were concerned had missed the kingdom of God:
[1Th 4:13 KJV] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

And Paul was comforting them about what state their deceased loved ones were in: "asleep". Notice that he didn't say they were "with the Lord". If that were true, that would have been even more comforting than what he actually said, so the only reason I can think of that he didn't say that is because it wasn't accurate. They weren't yet "with the Lord". Rather, they were "asleep".

And this he recommends to them to use for comforting those that had lost loved ones. We also, unless there has been a change since Paul wrote that, should be using those words to comfort the grieving:
[1Th 4:18 KJV] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

Now lets consider us having the earnest of the Spirit relative to receiving the self same thing. Notice these having the earnest of the Spirit groan. Where else do we see this same groaning relative to the Spirit and what is being groaned for?. Romans 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

This passage in 2 Cor 5 relative to being with the Lord is the exact time frame as 2 Thes 4:13-18, and it takes place at the coming of the Lord and the resurrection of those who are Christ's at the redemption of the body, the redemption of the purchased possession of Eph 1:14 When we will be glorified with Christ Phil 3:20, 21 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

That is when one will be with the Lord.

That is when the gates of Hades have not prevailed.

I think I understand, correct me if I am wrong

You believe one dies departs the body and is with the Lord. And I ask is that one with the Lord, as naked? Is he found, to be with the Lord, naked? Or is he clothed in his house which is from heaven at death and therefore would not be found naked with the Lord?

Here is a thought. One dies, goes to heaven and is sitting at the feet of Jesus. Does he then hear the Master say, "Well done my good and faithful servant," or is that passage in the context of at the return of the Lord?
