The Gaza Strip: Largest Prison in the World

The people of Gaza have elected terrorists as their leaders - they get what they voted for.

[Just as Americans voted in an inexperienced, liberal community lecturer for our leader and we get what we voted for]

I've heard this said recently:
If today Israel said, "Enough, we will lay down our arms and refuse to fight", what would happen? They would be wiped off the face of the earth!

If today the people of Gaza said, "Enough, we will lay down our arms and refuse to fight", what would happen? Peace would break out in the land!

The mid-west, or a transplant. I have not met many liberals in this part of the country....
You haven't been to Wichita, then.
The issue here is the Palestinians in general. The pople who live in the Gaza Strip. The ones who are dying in the hundreds.
Hamas is countermanding Israeli pleas for civilians to leave areas where Hamas is cowardously hiding among them, demanding the civilians stay put. It is Hamas who is seeing to it that civilians die. They want them to die. They have said, "We love death more than you love life," but the leadership lives in luxury and safety while the civilians their terrorist cowards hide among live in fear, poverty and virtual slavery to the "fighters" launching rocket and mortar attacks into Israel.
"Hamas" does not equal "Palestinians" ...
As Rev said, there is no such thing as a "Palestinian." But using your vernacular for the sake of argument, the former nonetheless forces the latter to die for their cause.
Evil acts - assuming this is even fact -
Huffington Post: Hamas' Tactic: Require Israel to Cause Civilian Casualties http://www.huffingtonpost.com/alan-dershowitz/hamas-tactic-require-isra_b_2159321.htmlhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/alan-dershowitz/hamas-tactic-require-isra_b_2159321.html

As the rockets continue to fall in Israel and Gaza, it is important to understand Hamas's tactic and how the international community and the media are encouraging it. Hamas's tactic is as simple as it is criminal and brutal. Its leaders know that by repeatedly firing rockets at Israeli civilian areas, they will give Israel no choice but to respond. Israel's response will target the rockets and those sending them. In order to maximize their own civilian casualties, and thereby earn the sympathy of the international community and media, Hamas leaders deliberately fire their rockets from densely populated civilian areas.

Let's state the obvious: No one likes to see dead children. Well, that's not completely true: Hamas does. They would prefer those children to be Jewish, but there is greater value to them if they are Palestinian. Outmatched by Israel's military, handicapped by rocket launchers with the steady hands of Barney Fife, Hamas is playing the long game of moral revulsion.

With this conflict about to enter its third week, winning the PR war is the best Hamas can hope to achieve. Their weapon of choice, however, seems to be the cannon fodder of their own people, performing double duty in also sounding the drumbeat of Israeli condemnation. If you can't beat Iron Dome, then deploy sacrificial children as human shields.
It's true. No amount of wishing to vilify Israel will make it untrue.
... do not justify even more evil acts of slaughter of civilians in the hundreds. Would you still hold this rationale if this all happened in America?
Yes, if rockets were raining down on Kansas City from Canada, I'd expect the U.S. to do something about it, without hesitation. If the Canadian military was hiding its rockets among civilians, tough. A sovereign nation has the right to defend itself, and if the enemy wishes to kill its own civilians hoping for a "PR victory" then let them die. The choice is obvious.
Question: Why did you leave this ...

He spoke with a PLO flag at his side.
... out of your quote from this decidedly anti-Semetic rant? He's in the same self-hating mode of Nina Paley.

It is easy to condemn another nation's defensive acts when it is not yours that is threatened.

Pass the popcorn will ya? The show is about to begin again.

My nation is being threatened with nuclear annihilation all for the sake of a few private global banks and corporations that profit from starting wars and keeping them going forever and ever amen.
