The God Chasers question

In his book "The God Chasers", Tommy Tenney says:

"We need to learn to entertain and welcome the manifested presence of God to such a degree that just the residue of what has gone on among us brings sinners to the point of conviction and conversion instantaneously. I am hungry for that kind of expression of revival, but if we're not careful we are going to let the lamp flicker out. We do not have a lock on God because we're not married to Him yet. He is still just looking for a bride without spot or wrinkle, and we need to remember that He already left one bride at the altar and He'll leave another."

What does he mean by "He already left one bride at the altar"?

presumably the man means Israel, and that the church replaced Israel as the bride of Christ. But the church is not the bride of Christ. The bride has yet to be revealed, and will be made of those who are making themselves ready both of believers, and I suppose those Jews who become believers in the tribulation when God begins to deal with Israel again.

Mr. Tenny is also has the false impression that if we don't establish our own righteousness through some kind of perfect living that God will also reject the Church. And who knows what option 3 could turn out to be.

Tenney has never renounced his past ties to the UPC, the large Oneness group. So I would not pay attention to what someone like this says.

Though Tenney is said by some to have left the UPC, Liichow observes that "Mr. Tenney has not publicly recanted his former UPC beliefs."20 By his own account, Tenney left the UPC because he "'couldn't enforce some of the views' of the UPC – including rules that to this day forbid pastors in the group from owning televisions."21

I wasn't endorsing the man or his book, I was just wondering what he meant by that statement. Thank you James_Newman for answering my question.
