Wow, the extremes we go to in trying to define a simple term like "modesty".
You would think that men have zero responsibility for what they look at. Jesus taught otherwise.
I work at a college. I have earned to avert my eyes- most of the time. The times I don't- I repent.
A burka wouldn't stop some guys from lusting. The problem isn't what's on the outside, it's what is on the inside, guys!
As modesty is taught in God's word, we should also teach it in conjunction with teaching people how to take responsibility for themselves.
Part of Godliness is loving others. And loving others means that you'll often times put their well being before your liberty to do what you want.
The Holy Ghost pointed out to me that he wanted me to obey this.
1 Timothy, Chapter 5
20:Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
And to love each one as my own child. Spare the rod spoil the child.
When it comes to sin.
There is never a compromise of any kind. WHATSOEVER.
Go anywhere in this land.
Take a good look.
You will see the results of compromising with sin.
Take a good look.
You are seeing the decline and death of a great nation.
And the churches are not far behind.
Perhaps you would read that again and tell me where I said it ceased being truth? One of the Prof's at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., Dr. Willmington, once told me..
We can never separate love and truth:
• Truth without love leads to legalism.
• Love without truth leads to liberalism.
How true that is. This statement is not true. There are many instances in scripture that the truth was preached without love but it was still truth. Jonah is a good example, also if the truth of Gods grace is preached in all of its sovereignty, whether you love the listeners or not it is still truth.
This question is to the christian men. If you were married to a young woman that by all standards was a very beautiful woman and had a figure that would surely turn heads but the problem is she went out in public on most occasions wearing clothes or the lack of them that left nothing to the imagination and worldly men turned their heads to get the second look, do you think your wife is justified in such acts as these?
Two points to make. One, my family dresses modestly. Two, it is none of your business or concern how they dress. How can Christian men allow their wives and daughters to wear makeup. That is certainly not Godly.
Prude. Show me the verse with that standard.
Well, sometimes the barn needs a coat of paint ya know?

If there were no laws against nakedness the ungodly would go around in public in their birthday suits.
They can go topless but not completely naked or show their private parts.Actually, this is untrue. It is legal in New York City for a woman to go topless but it's rare that you see it happen.
If there were no laws against nakedness the ungodly would go around in public in their birthday suits. Years ago a man could not enter a public place in TN without a shirt on. If a man went to court the judge would not hear his case if he had long hair or ear rings. There used to be public indecent laws that kept people looking decent but now people don't care what they look like which reveals a spirit of rebellion and a rebellion against authority.
They can go topless but not completely naked or show their private parts.

If you were a lost person and on two different occasions two different females walked up to you to witness about Christ. One was clothed in a long dress down passed her knees with a long sleeve blouse on and the other one wore tight shorts, low cut blouse and pulling on a cigarette. Which one would be a better witness ?
