The GOP Is Dying Off. Literally.

Are you upset because paleo-cons are the oldest of them all?

No, I'm upset that the GOP has abandoned our constitutional republic and conservative principles because they got scared.

But then if you trace the GOP back to the beginning . . .

From the beginning, the Republican Party has worked without deviation for bigger, more imperial government, for higher taxes, for more wars, for more totalitarianism. From the beginning, the Republican Party has been Red.

"the GOP is attracting fewer first-time voters."

and that is probably true.
The GOP thinks you should earn your college degree, not have the govt* pay for it
The GOP thinks you should work for a living, it is not the govt's *responsibility to provide you with an income for just sitting at home.
The GOP believes in morals -
The GOP believes in balancing the budget
The GOP believes in unions - but Coercion should not be used.
The GOP believes that life begins at conception.
The GOP believes that voter fraud should be prohibited; and only American citizens should be allowed to vote.
The GOP believes in the 10th Amendment.
The GOP believes it is unnecessary to have burdensome regulatory, contracting and capital barriers.

So exactly, what part of the GOP platform is wrong?

* more specifically - hard working taxpayers.

I have no doubt that the Republicans "believe" those things, but there seems to be a huge disconnect between their beliefs and their actions.

You touch on two good topics that I will start a new thread on.

1-What is conservative versus just plain mean or selfish. I feel many who call themselves conservative are simply mean or selfish and not really conservative.
Not nearly as mean and selfish as the liberal/leftist/democrat party of death you support crabby. They celebrate the slaughter of the unborn child and you stand by and cheer. You are hypocritical beyond words to express as is any professing Christian who supports the daughter of the unborn child.

2. On the church, we do not have to change the message but we must change the method of presenting the message.

The liberal/leftists in this country are doing everything possible to destroy the Church and that truth is undeniable!

We need the GOP to stick around to make it appear as though we have a two party system for awhile longer.

At least until after a new puppet is installed.

If you mean dying physically, everybody is. A few of us, due to timing completely outside our control, may be spared that.

I wouldn't do your euphoric happy dance on top of their graves just yet.

I thought you had a better memory than to make such a comment. I have said, still say, and will continue to say the country needs the GOP. If we ever end up only one viable party it will portend a very bad future of our country. The is one of the lessons of history, when a country is dominated by one party it turns out very bad for the citizens of that country. It would not be much different here.

I don't have the quote in front of me, and so can't give credit. But I read the other day where someone said,

"If you're young and not a liberal, you have no heart. If you're old and not a conservative, you have no brain."

First thing you have ever posted that made any sense at all!

Don't know if Stang is correct but it is a fact that the Yankees raped the South during the War and for many years after the War. Sherman's march through Georgia was a nightmare and caused much of the bitterness of the South against the North. But the South was under the heal of the North for about 100 years until Eisenhower became president. Then things began to change.

Fascinating...
So very fascinating and revealing that you see education's primary goal as a way to "train a workforce."

What you just said is so prescient in such an amazing way.
Hind-sight is indeed 20-20.

It appears the founders of the American Public Education system have "trained" you just as they intended. Exactly as they planned; "training" a "workforce".

Nice

The truth is that since the Federal government got involved in education the educational system has been on a downhill slide!

I don't know about all that.

He's seems to be able to understand that corporate special interests have both parties in their pockets.

Democrats are in their left pocket and republicans are in their right pocket.

You guys haven't reached that level of understanding yet. :type:

Crony Capitalism is a fact of political life in this country. It is also a fact that democrats who actually benefit more are able to make it appear that the Republicans are in both pockets of Wall Street.

Many who call themselves conservative are authoritarians who like the authoritarians who call themselves liberal see bigger more intrusive government as a way to slap more controls on the "other side" and everyone that thinks differently or holds opinions different to theirs.

There's is no argument over whether or not something is constitutional or in the best interest of all Americans. There's only arguments over who's going to control what.

It's all about control. We have a government made up of control freaks.

And much of that control is exercised by the multi-million person bureaucracy just as in the Soviet Union!

There is no Soviet Union.

It collapsed under the weight of it's own corruption.

As the U.S. will do eventually. And we'll go down picking each other apart like a bunch of idiots.

We've already got the authoritarian government, totalitarian government is next.
