That very seldom happens, especially in my personal life.
Despite what I would love to do to help others, if I don't have the disposable income, I can't help. Now, if only the government took that viewpoint.....
With respect to political ideology, a possible example is healthcare. It would be great to have a better healthcare system. The best possible way to do this is a single-payer system with price controls and uniformity across the board (i.e. the Veterans Admin. can exert price controls whereas the Medicare system cannot). There should be volume discounting and it should cross the whole spectrum (much like a super-retailer like Wal-Mart does).
Of course, we both know that will never happen. Until making a profit on the health of others and providing a service become mutually exclusive, that will never happen.
