I would say, life from the dead to die no more, is the gift of God which comes to us, because of the grace through the faith.

A couple of questions concerning grace. What was the grace of God that brings salvation to men?
What was the grace of God, of which Paul did not want to frustrate of Gal. 2:21?

And if Christ be not raised, your faith vain; ye are yet in your sins. 1 Cor. 15:17

What makes Abraham the father of us all? To be of his faith.

What was his faith that we must be of in order to be his, Abraham's children?

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Gal 3:29

So Christ was the faith of Abraham.

It was Abraham's seed to come, Christ, in whom all the nations of the earth would be blessed that was the faith (belief, a noun) of Abraham.

And in reality that belief, faith did not come until Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the seed of Abraham gave his life, died and was resurrected (raised) from the dead.

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 1 Cor 15:17 Without the resurrection there is no faith. That is when, "the faith," came.

Gal 3:23 before the faith came they were under the law.
Gal 3:25 after the faith came they were no longer under the law, but under grace.

Jesus was given life from the dead by God, his Father and that was the promise made through Abraham and was the faith of Abraham.

That is what faith is. Faith is not what you think about something.

We are not imputed with anything because of what we think about anything.

We are imputed because of the above faith that came and that imputation is according to the election of grace.

I am familiar with the passage, but was wondering what you thought the author means by “imputeth righteousness.” Is it positional or is it something that the believer possesses? Is it something that God does “to” man or is it a declaration based on man’s status in Christ? Can Christ’s (or God’s) own moral righteousness be imputed, or is it something else entirely?

I hope all is well. Thank you for your explanation. Personally, I am not sure where I stand on this issue. I’ve always been torn between interpreting this justification as being “made just” and being justified in Christ. When I read Romans (and Galatians, for that matter), I tend to see justification as a declaration of being just in Christ (clothed, so to speak, in His righteousness by virtue of being “in Him”). But on the other hand, the doctrine that I have always been taught leans towards justification as almost (if not) equating to salvation (via Christ’s work on the Cross and the satisfaction of my debt). Anyway, I do appreciate your patience in explaining your understanding.
