The Raskolniki have been subject to severe persecution over matters that outsiders might consider trivial.

If you would think of the Primitive Baptists in the United States being burned alive, tortured, subject to double taxation, then you might have an inkling of the mindset of the Old Believers.

The Calvinism material is from A.M. Hills, a (Surprise.) Holiness preacher.
The Catholic church committed crimes against humanity in the form of exterminations, torture, the inquisition etc.

So how can you "take the word of the perpetrator" regarding the "Character of its victims"??

Montanism is a good example. How much of the "negative" in the case of Montanists is merely Catholic revisionism?

Just as the Protestant sees a "flaw" in the way the RCC chooses to revise the Bible teaching on sola scriptura (Acts 17:11 for example) - Might some of the other groups listed "cry foul" if they could read how they are being represented?

In Christ,

All murder and torture of any kind is wrong. True.
Matt says, Look at the KKK.
The mosquito bites Matt. That is torture.

DHK says look at the RCC
Fleas caused the black plague which swept over most of Europe. That is torture and resulting death.

Can we compare the two. Matt says the two are equal.
Both the fleas and the mosquito did wrong. It does't matter how much wrong or harm was caused by the fleas in the black death, the mosquito still did wrong by biting Matt.
That is the comparison (in history) that is drawn by the events that Matt pulls out and compares to the murderous actions of the RCC all throughout the annals of history.
