Vatican has the state-ship and controls many countries behind, via Freemason, Illuminati, Jesuit, Templar Knights, and so on ( I forgot one which I learned recently)

It would appear that some people will believe anything as long as it speaks ill of their favorite whipping post.

I explained you about the Bible explaining the Great Whore. Then do you deny the Inquisition by Catholic, Indulgence Business, Idolatry, Papacy, etc? Proofs are everywhere in the world.
Why are those sites condemning Inquisition, Idolatry the conspiracy sites?

If I present another ones, you will condemn it again as conspiracy site. Why should I do it?

I know this battle will continue until the Lord comes and destroy all the Whorish people.

Would you please therefore show me the verse which says "The Roman Catholic Church is the Whorish Great Harlot of Babylon". If you can't show me a verse that says exactly that, then please shut up about it.

Besides, what you've offered, Eli, is your interpretztion of what the Bible says, ignoring Biblical scholarship and historical fact.

You have yet to properly disprove my assertion that the passage in Revelation refers not to the Catholoic Church, but to the Roman government. I would contend that the picture of the Whore of Babylon is not the Catholic Church but American society.

I'm looking forward to any supported evidence you may have to the contrary.

The great whore is Babylon, not Rome; it's Islam.

Now, I have reason to believe that the beast she rides is the Catholic church.

Now, we can look at the alliance made between the Catholics and the Muslims a while back, and this alliance has created a united front that is arguably 2.5+ billion strong, plus add in those who are sympathetic to either, and you have about half the world in this unholy alliance.

(I also find it interesting to read about this new compound the US is building in Iraq.)

I'm newly back on the board after a lengthy absence, so I'm sure I've missed much of the debate here.

Can you expound upon--or provide me a BB topic link or something that does so--your comment on your contention that "the picture of the Whore of Babylon is not the Catholic Church but American society"??? I'm not disagreeing or debating your point but, rather, am wanting more info to understand why you say this. It's very interesting--as is this entire discussion.

Where is Babylon? Is it a real place? As a teen one day I setout to find where the Babylon of Rev is located. I found only 2 places. Now, there maybe more then one, but as a young boy that was all I could find. Nowadays it is much easier with Google.

Where are the 2 Babylons?

What does this have to do with anything? i don't know...maybe nothing. Just posting for feedback.

It's not opinion that the great whore is Babylon. Trying to say that she's something else is definitely opinion, as it's not what we're told in Scripture.

However, my belief that the beast is the Catholic church is opinion.

I have to say that I didn't get too far. I think this Batchelor fellow twists Scripture to fit his purposes, and obviously so, so I can't give it much attention, sorry.

Here's an example:

NOTE: The Bible defines blasphemy as man claiming to forgive sins (Luke 5:21) and claiming to be God (John 10:33). The papacy boldly claims the power to forgive sins. Notice the following section from a Catholic catechism: "Does the Priest truly forgive the sins, or does he only declare that they are remitted? The Priest does really and truly forgive the sins in virtue of the power given to him by Christ."

Now, here's what Luke 5:21 says:

The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, "Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

The Pharisees and scribes were thinking this about... guess who?

Jesus, that's Who.

The same Jesus who, later in the Gospels, gave His followers the authority to forgive sin. Here's John 20:23:

If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.

In short, I find this out-of-context and lazy prooftexting disgusting. Find someone who can make their point without stripping Scripture of its meaning.
