In a related story, Bert, "partner" of Ernie, is in the hospital, reportedly suffering blunt force trauma injuries...

Police suspect either a Louisville Slugger or King James Bible was used in the attack...

Story at ten...

"Amuse" comes from "muse", which means to think, with the negative prefix "a": To cause not to think. We are all given times of rest, and a little amusement is OK.

Christian liberty is what I have been teaching on the last three Sundays, and the primary focus is that many things that are OK in moderation are sin when taken to extremes. The TV is an inanimate object. How much time do you spend with it? What do you use if for? Etc.

Bert is much more evil than if he were simply homosexual. Click here, and yes, this is a real picture. I Snoped it: Osama Bert Laden

They drink beer!

Let's all drink a toast to Pastor Sanderson.

SALUTE!

I'm still incredulous; is he really serious? I mean, really?

I think my curiosity may get the best of me (hey, I have 3 cats) and I'll end up taking a road trip to Tempe. I gotta see this church. I gotta hear this guy in real life before I'm fully convinced that it's not just an elaborate hoax.

Hope of Glory --

I've been digging around the internet looking for more interesting Bert sites. That little guy gets in more messes! I'm surprised Ernie puts up with him.

I always fealt bad for Bert actually, he never seemed to understand Ernie.

Hey I wonder if mr. Anderson would claim that the original Bert and Ernie from "Its a Wonderful Life" were gay too.

Theres much more evil and porn on the internet then on tv. So next week are you going to beat up your computer? Or are there some double standards going on.

The computer is dangerous for curious minds and those who have hidden sins or our curious children (mine are not allowed on unless supervised. My husband has NO interest in porn on the net and doesn't get phased by the commercials on tv. But for a lot of men and children it is extremely dangerous for those who want to go to those kinds of sites. For those of us who have no interest it isn't as bad as the TV where you have NO choice what flashes in your face (I go between tv shows when the commercial comes on, thank God for remotes) So in one sense the net isn't as bad since you have the choice to view what you want, where the TV just gives it to you.

in that sense there is a huge difference.

Me and another pastor was invited to a revival this man had at his church. Many pastors were there to speak for this two week long event, with 3 sermons a night.

Every preacher that spoke spoke against television, certain clothing, and men with beards.

My pastor friend and I were the only ones there with beards.
I wonder if these legalists knew that Jesus had a beard?

Random thoughts, whilst we await Mr. Sanderson's reply...(Whistles "Jeapordy" theme to himself, waiting for response from Mr. Sanderson.)

Ah, yes, that evil jeapordy theme...

If one of my kids has a dirty mind, do I beat THEM with a bat? Where do you draw the line?

BTW, I have saved his sermon clip...I meet with a couple of young student ministers. I'm going to show them what NOT to do in the area of preaching.

I keep fancying myself as Agent Smith of the Matrix: "Misterrrr Sanderson...."

Wooooops!

Of course I didn't mean our friend Mr. Sanderson, but the preachers that standingfirminChrist heard in N.C.

You wrote: "This guy destroys a TV...violently...with NO warning. He seriously scares a kid (you hear them crying in the background). According to Mr. Anderson, this is to be done if your wife or kids ask, "Why do we need to get rid of the TV?"

BTW, I think I figured out who the children were who were crying when he broke up the TV. My guess is that he broke his own TV and it was his kids that were crying.

Yes, you have a choice, turn the channel.
You can access much more evil on the internet then you can on tv.

Jack,

Actually, I wrote that...and when you listen to the tape, it's obvious that the kid really was frightened.

I joke around a ton on the board (probably more than I should; definitely more than most folk). But I'm not joking about this guy...he needs some help. When you listen to the clip (the last 5 minutes or so), you'll understand. It is VERY troubling.

I know, I know...I hate giving publicity to this stuff, but there seem to be some serious issues with this guy...he scares me, and I'm worried about his family.
