He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. (Not Identified Version) Colossians 1:28

We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. (NASB)

As unqualified as you may be, can you identify the omission? Everyone appears two times in the first version and every man appears three times in the NASB. Guess how many times the Greek words for "every" and "human" appear in the verse? :)
Both saying same thing!

Please do not ignore the omission. God inspired each and every word of the original text, no need to add to it, take away from it, or alter it. In the example the force of the teaching that the gospel of Christ is not for a select set, but for all mankind is reduced. Thus this adulteration is agenda driven, weakening God's use of repetition to make a point.

Since this thread has veered into the familiar territory of Van's disdain of the NIV, and the rebuttals of its defenders, and is no longer about the original post, it is closed.
