IIRC, Crabtownboy was living in Europe but moved to the U.S. So, yes, I'd say he is feeling safer now than he was 8 years ago.

In your opinion, am I safer here or in Europe?

Oh, you were much safer in Europe where there are no Fundamentalists and Evangelicals to disagree with you.

Honest answer? I feel no different as far as safety goes. Neither more secure or less secure.

Now, seven years ago? I was in Iraq. 4 years ago I was in Afghanistan. After being in those places it's a dual edged sword. I feel both safe and unsafe no matter where I go.
