The preacher of the OP is taking a statement about the "general resurrection" in which the typical Jews (orthodox) do believe, and making some kind of theological leap.
The Jews of both Christ's day, and the orthodox Jews of today, both hold that God will have a point in which the dead will be raised and answer for what they have done.
The believers have those who would confuse that general resurrection (sometimes called that "great white throne" judgment of God) with other resurrections.
I heard a preacher many years ago that used the passage "cloud of witnesses" and "clouds received him..." as all the saints of paradise being transferred into heaven at the ascension of Christ.
There is all manner of teaching that can be found, because some need the emotional puffy and follow after such.
However, be careful not to lump all who hold a doctrinal view into those who rely upon the puffy for their foundation. A wise believer will hear of such, find true instruction in the Scriptures, and ignore the rest.
There is MORE than one resurrection from the dead found in the Scriptures:
The prophet involved in raising the dead child of the widow.
The prophecy of the resurrection in the valley of bones.
The raising of the little girl by Jesus.
The raising of the son being carried out of the house by Jesus.
The raising of Lazarus.
The raising of many who where in the tombs at the death of Christ.
The raising of Christ as the first fruits.
The believer translation of the living and raising of the believing dead as Paul discusses.
The great white throne general raising of all after time has stopped.
Did I miss any?
The point being that if one makes the claim that there is only ONE resurrection, then the statement is just as mistaken as the statement of the preacher mentioned in the OP.
