The NAU is going to SNEAK in on us...

You've been told wrong by someone who has no idea what they are talking about.
There is a plan to unite the three nations. This plan will make this Continent strong again. Strong in the financial sense. Strong in the military sense. Strong in the number of people living here sense. And it gives us a large military presence, attracting the unemployed Mexican citizen's to serve and fight for their new country.
The NAU is the answer to the illegal immigrant problem with Mexico. Again, why do you think the White House is dragging its feet on the problem?
For Ed, if for no other reason than political corruption, this once proud nation has fallen into the same trap that destroyed Rome. We are similar to Rome, and they were an Empire in the last days of their life on earth. I don't disagree with your argument, but, in many senses, America has fallen from the status of one nation under God, to that of an Empire ruled [secretly and covertly] by the wealthy, powerful few.
The NAU will be easy to sell to all nations, because we will be desperate and willing to prop ourselves back up. With the financial stability of Canada, and the available manpower [cheap labor] just waiting to be tapped in Mexico, the NAU will be our only resort.
May I also point out to you nonbelievers, that Mexico's untapped oil resources is another way to bail out the American love of the wild life preserves in Alaska and off our coasts.
The NAU will mean no more out-sourcing of jobs. There are many reasons to go this way, and when it is presented, all three nations will be so ready for it, it will be an easy sell.
Finally, With Canada's social health care program and Kaiser waiting to work with them, America and Mexico will have that badly needed national health care program.
Sorry to bust you balloon's folks, but, the NAU has been in the background since Clinton's early days as President, and the next leader will only have to flick the switch to switch us over to an EU like state known as the America's.
I can't say that this is not too different than the Louisiana purchase, the annexation of the Western states, etc. life in the America's will be a whole lot better than life in today's America.
