The Latest Cop Civilian Confrontation

Members of the Christian band "Matthew 24" refuse to cooperate with the local police starting a lengthy brawl and resulting in one dead civilian and one cop shot in the leg. A Wal Mart security guy steps in and goes toe-to-toe with suspects in an attempt to help the police.

Watching the video I got the sense that these are some inept cops.

They are a "Christian" band?

Guess that goes to show:
Matthew 7:20-23 said:
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

How so? I saw nothing that gave that impression.

From a press conference at which the video was played in 1/4 rate:

FNN: Dashcam video of WalMart brawl and shooting

Published on Apr 10, 2015

Cottonwood police chief Jody Fanning reviews the dashcam footage from a brawl in a WalMart parking lot in March, 2015. Nine suspects and eight officers were involved. One suspect was killed, and an officer was shot in the leg. The police chief reviews the video twice, outlining exactly what happened.

Trying to use minimum force necessary can make them look foolish, even one on one.

It's tougher against a gang of 8. They were vastly outnumbered in the beginning.

You know I look at a video like this in terms of all the other police violence we've witnessed lately with police killing black men. It certainly did take a while to use deadly force. Maybe these guys were just a little better trained and knew that deadly force should be a last resort instead of a drive up and BAM you're dead resort.

I honestly believe if those folks were Black, more than one would be dead right now.

Sad situation.

Your post is even more sad.

Considering your level of denial when it comes to all things racial, what you believe is as irrelevant as your denial is pitiful.

Yep. Tamir Rice got about 2 seconds and stepped into eternity.

For nearly 10 minutes these cops used fists, batons, tasers, pepper spray and then deadly force as a last resort.

So I wonder what made this group of folks look less threatening than a 12 year old with a toy?

It's pitiful how quick he is to gossip. Race comes up whether it's relevant or not. Zaac's making sure nobody can have an intelligent conversation. It's the old Zaac times ten.

If you want to have the same old non-discussion about the same old non-nothing while ignoring the white elephant in the room, form your own club and do so.

My range of discussion isn't limited by folks who want to ignore the truth.

Yes, that was the problem. How many times can you tell at someone "GET DOWN" while they are taking swings at you before you crack some heads.

It's tougher against a gang of 8. They were vastly outnumbered in the beginning.

Yes, but the gang is a 55 year old man, a 50 something woman, two juveniles, an 18, 21, 27 year old and a 29 year old.

The cops should have gone after the 2 biggest guys right away and take control of the situation. They never had control of anything. A suspect taking an officer's gun is a cardinal sin for police officers.

Even the way they initially approached them was wrong. "We're going to separate you and ask some questions" should have been "you and you are coming with us".

You're a stuck record, Zaac. You've got nothing new to say. Race isn't a part of this, as much as you need it to be.

Ironically, this post is pure racism, or at the very least, stereotyping (of which racism is a subset). It is allowing your perception of someone to be altered by the actions of someone else.

Zaac, with all the speaking out against racism you do, I am honestly surprised you would post in such a manner.

Why should I have something new to say when the same thing is happening every day?

You don't think race is a part of it. I disagree.

My perception hasn't been altered by anything. I'm just speaking from what I'm seeing and hearing in the news. Based upon what I have seen of cops in the news lately, I highly doubt there wouldn't be more dead folks if they were Black.

Zaac, with all the speaking out against racism you do, I am honestly surprised you would post in such a manner.

In what manner? The manner that causes white people to stop pretending like everything is alright and that police officers aren't killing black people while apparently doing everything they can to not kill white suspects?

As I've said. I'm real. I deal with black adults and students all the time. And while most of the folks on this board sit back and believe the mess that they've been conditioned to believe, the people in the Black communities have a completely different viewpoint.

They see the way the black suspects are always portrayed as violent career criminals while the white suspects are portrayed as the good students or as the family men.

They see the way the black suspects are shot dead as a first option while the white suspects are treated as if the last thing anyone wants to do is shoot them.

White people have produced this movie. So don't blame me for critiquing it.

Derrick Daniel Thomas

32-year old Thomas barged into a strangers home with a handgun, robbed the house and it’s inhabitants, shot at the house before fleeing on foot, where he threatened some construction workers, shot at the contractor five times, and then led police on a chase. After cornering the White man, the police allegedly told Thomas to drop his weapon. However Thomas refused and instead pointed the gun at the cops and allegedly responded: “No, you drop your (expletive) gun!”

Despite many threats to the police safety, Thomas was eventually taken into custody alive and without a single bullet hole to the body, where he was able to face five counts of aggravated assault, three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, one count of criminal damage to property and a $500,000 bond – of course, this happened after the officers got his real name because originally, Thomas gave them an alias at booking, which they accepted as the truth

Steve Lohner

The name doesn’t ring familiar but the 18-year old kid from Aurora, Colorado tells a Denver Fox 31 News that he believes police are unfairly targeting simply because he is walking around town with a shotgun. Lohner is so incensed by his violation of his constitutional right, he has started to record his encounters with police including one video, which lasts for over seven minutes and involves him not getting shot. The station also reports about this kid’s grave injustice:

“Police who were called to the scene say they weren’t able to determine if he was doing it legally. Lohner refused to show them an ID to prove he’s 18.“I simply carry this for the protection of myself and those around me,” Lohner says. His shotgun is a Stoeger P-350 12 gauge.“I’ve been stopped close to a dozen times for this and this is actually the first time I’ve been forced to provide ID,” he says. The teen says he’s on a campaign to call attention to open carry laws. “I feel like a lot of people now they see a weapon like that and they think, you know, James Holmes or Sandy Hook,”

The Boston Marathon Bomber? Shoots at police. ALIVE.

What about the guy who shot up the movie theater?

The list grows everyday showing how police in these United States seem to do everything they can to keep from killing white suspects but just the opposite when the suspects are Black.

So if you think it makes me a racist to recognize the disparity of treatment of Blacks vs Whites by the police, I simply don't have a problem with it.

Some of you seem to think that ignoring it and saying it's not so, is gonna make it go away.

And as I've said before . The genie is out of the bottle and the world has seen it. Somebodies better start acknowledging the truth real quick or this country is heading for an all out race war.

Race is not an issue in this OP, Zaac. The fact that you see it says more about your dishonesty than it does anything about anyone else.
