A consistent, scriptural view of preservation does not lead to a modern, man-made KJV-only view.

According to the definition of preservation and according to what the Scriptures state, the same original language words given to the prophets and apostles would be the words that would be preserved. His words were the words given by inspiration to the prophets and apostles.

Do those who make non-scriptural exclusive only claims for the KJV show that they believe what the Scriptures state?

Why do you post and even repeat false claims? You posted these same claims in another thread, and they were refuted.

The above are not the direct claims of Daniel B. Wallace. In what specific source or article does Daniel B. Wallace state the above? If Wallace makes them in any article, he would be quoting them from their actual source D. A. Waite.

The above inaccurate claims were made by D. A. Waite.

In his 1985 booklet The Authorized Version 1611 Compared to Today's King James Version, D. A. Waite wrote:

"1. 'Towards' is changed to 'toward' 14 times
2. 'Burnt' is changed to 'burned' 31 times
3. 'Amongst' is changed to 'among' 36 times
4. 'Lift' is changed to 'lifted' 51 times
5. 'You' is changed to 'ye' 82 times" (p. 5).

The information you quote what whatever source is actually not factual or correct.

I compared the same two editions of the KJV that D. A. Waite compared, and I found over 2,000 differences [not 421]. A list of those 2,000 are given in a booklet entitled Today's KJV and 1611 Compared and More. so that count have been documented and presented since 2006. Even D. A. Waite himself has revised his count up to 1,095 changes.

"You" in the 1611 edition was changed to "ye" over 200 times.

"Towards" was changed to "toward" more than 14 times. I quickly skimmed through my research and found over 70 times that this change was made.

D. A. Waite’s count of “only 136” changes that he termed “substantial changes” is inaccurate.

Perhaps because Waite failed to correct his 136 count of “substantial changes“ when he revised his count of total changes to 1095, David Cloud apparently assumed that out of the 674 additional changes that Waite now acknowledged that there would be no “substantial changes” among them. David Cloud asserted: “Dr. Waite found only 136 substantial changes” (Answering the Myths, p. 79).

According to Waite’s own stated categories of what constituted “substantial changes,“ it should be very clear that the claim of only “136” such changes does not hold up in the light of the facts found in the 1611 KJV. If all the changes in the categories that Waite described as “substantial” [adding a word, omitting a word, changing a tense, changing a word, changing number (plural/singular), changing a case] were counted, the count of “substantial” changes would definitely be over 300 if not over 400.

There were over 140 words added to a present KJV edition that are not found in the 1611. At one verse (Eccl. 8:17), six words were added. At nine verses, three words are added. At fifteen verses, two words are added.

Over 45 words found in the 1611 are omitted in the present KJV edition if the 21 words omitted at Exodus 14:10 are included in the count.

Over 60 times the number [plural/singular] of nouns or pronouns is changed.

Twenty or more times the tense of a verb is changed.

Sixty, seventy, or more examples would belong to the category “changing a word,“ and Waite himself listed at least that many examples in this category in his own incomplete 421 list in his 1985 booklet (see pp. 20-23). “Than” is a different word than “then,“ which means that there are 483 more word changes that could be counted as being “substantial.”

Under that category of “changing a word,“ Waite included a couple examples that could be described as “changing the gender of pronouns” [“he” to “she” (Ruth 3:15, Job 39:30), “her” to “his” (Gen. 39:16), “she“ to “he“ (Song of Solomon 2:7)]. Under his category described as “changing a case,“ Waite listed only two examples [“who” to “whom” (Acts 21:16) and “him” to “he” (Prov. 6:19)]. There would be other examples of the changing of the case of pronouns [“who” to “whom” (Gen. 24:44. Acts 22:8), “it“ to “its“ (Lev. 25:5)]. If all the changes of “you” to the nominative case “ye” were included in this category, the total number of “substantial changes” would be over 200 more. In twelve places, a nominative case “ye” was changed to a different case “you” [Gen. 19:14, Num. 32:24, Deut. 1:13, Josh. 3:12, Josh. 22:4, Isa. 1:16, Isa. 30:11, Isa. 32:11, Ezek. 11:15, Zech. 6:7, Zech. 9:12].

It would seem obvious that anyone who now advocates or defends this “136” substantial changes count has their eyes closed to the truth.
