If you don't already do so, try washing the saints' feet at the end.

How often do you have communion? It sounds like it is so often that people are not treating it as a special and significant occassion. Perhaps you should hold off having communion for a while and let the people feel what it is like to go without it.

We have our service twice a year. That certainly does not give people the "here we go again" feeling.

The top part of this is funny!

Incidentally, my late aunt and late father were both baptized during winter in a pond in KY, one of some half dozen places my church then used as "baptizin' holes", where there was ice, some 80-90 years ago, as I have heard both of them relate to me many years later. And then after the baptism service, they walked about 1/2 mi. to the house where they dried off, warmed up, and changed into dry clothes. Just for a bit of historical info.

We've never had commumion on Christmas Eve. Never occurred to us. We have the choir musical/drama, sing carols, a short devotional, then everyone lights candles and sings a few more carols, and we're done.

We are having a candle light service this Sunday night that is going to include the Lord's Supper.

Something else I would recommend if you're looking for creative ways to celebrate the Lord's Supper is to get some info from Jews for Jesus. They have a presentation that they call "Christ in the Passover" that goes into pretty good detail about the different parts of the Passover supper and what they symbolized. I've borrowed several good ideas from them.

I got just the thing. Give me a minute and I will see if I can find a link to this exciting new Church Growth program that I think will sweep the Christian World.

You forgot to give him a broom Joseph, he will need it to sweep the Christian world.

Pastor, what is a candle light service? I heard the term but never knew what it meant. I know RCC light candles, is it like that?
