"...A team of scientists appointed by the United Nations has reported that a free market system cannot provide the economic transition required to defeat climate change.

Scientists Warn the UN of Capitalism’s Imminent Demise

A climate change-fueled switch away from fossil fuels means the worldwide economy will fundamentally need to change.

Capitalism as we know it is over. So suggests a new report commissioned by a group of scientists appointed by the UN Secretary-General. The main reason? We’re transitioning rapidly to a radically different global economy, due to our increasingly unsustainable exploitation of the planet’s environmental resources....:"

"… Rapid economic transition requires proactive governance – markets cannot accomplish the task

It is clear from these examples that strong political governance is required to accomplish the key transitions. Market-based action will not suffice – even with a high carbon price. There must be a comprehensive vision and closely coordinated plans. Otherwise, a rapid system-level transformation toward global sustainability goals is inconceivable.

Oh well. If the only solution is trusting the competence of REALLY BIG Government to end human greed, then it is time to embrace change and start planting peach trees in Ohio. :)

It's all about money. Ours. The rest of the world wants it.

The gist of the article is it's all about the dire need for a "strong political governance", i.e. one world government, to ultimately save mankind.

On the POLITICAL front, isn't it strange how all of the world's despotic governments agree that the best solution is a stronger Government.

On the ESCHATOLOGICAL front, I seem to remember reading somewhere about one world government and everyone worshiping the beast and his prophet leader.

(As Barnhouse said, "All of life illustrates Bible doctrine.")

Can't get our money unless they first suck us into a one world government.

The United States is their Number 1 target. Most of the western world is already on board.

The UN, in an attempt to lead by example, is moving to a non-capitalist country, perhaps Venezuela.

Secondly, the UN is returning all money donated by capitalist countries, saying they don't want any filthy lucre earned by the sweat of a man's brow and that the UN can get by on free lunches.

Your family pet prefers capitalism. Under capitalism the family pet is treated like a human being and given all sorts of treats and cozy deals.

Under socialism your family pet gets eaten by you and your relatives and friends.

I am willing to do my part just as soon as they come up with a solution for these MEGA-POLLUTER volcanoes that spew out more greenhouse gasses in a few hours than humans do in many decades.

Does the phrase "straining gnats and swallowing camels" strike anyone as appropriate?

Moving away from fossil fuel use completely will definitely change the economy. Nothing like removing mechanical farming to reduce world-wide food production by 90% to really change the demographic landscape!

So what they really mean is that I need to give up my car to "save the world", even though nothing indicates that action will be nearly adequate to change the climate of the earth. I would rather strive to lift the "have nots" into becoming "haves" than to pull the "haves" down to making everyone a "have not".

The elites just want your money and then they are going to do away with you like a white farmer in Zimbabwe or leave you poor. All the labels that they apply to down and out to describe their misery will be applied to you and them, too, as soon as they get your money.

Pets become part of the food chain when people are starving.

What they really mean is that in order to 'save the world' the 'have nots' must submit to a one world government ruled by the 'haves' .
