The mistake in Bible maps

I have never found a Biblical map, that gives the correct route of Paul’s last missionary journey. They "all" show the ship that he was in, leaving Sidon and heading north(the regular route), but the Bible says....
Acts 27:4
“And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus,
because the winds were contrary.”
--------------------------------------------------
The ship sailed on the “lee side” of Cyprus, but “every” map shows the other route.

Am I missing something?

I'm not sure what you are talking about. Do you mean Paul's journey to Rome as a prisoner?

What does the "lee side" refer to?

If I remember correctly, however, the route was dictated by the time of year it was taken . During certain times of the year, they had to stay close to the coast line (moving north) because of prevailing winds kept them from going out into the Med. Sea.

The fact that the journey began too late in the season (which Paul warned them of) is demonstrated by the fact the winds kept them close to the coast. They stayed along the coast because of the prevailig winds. When they attempted to cross, they were shipwrecked.

But, I am not an expert.

peace to you:praying:

I believe the Byzantine family of maps has the correct path. You must have an Alexandrian Bible.
