I find it odd that everytime I come to Baptistboard.com I see this pretty women above the threads that is advertising Mormonism. Is this a christian website run by baptists' or is it run by a secular businessperson that takes any advertising money they can get. Just wondering.

When you type the word "morm*n" or "morm*nism", google automatically pops up advertising concening the subject. It is out of the control of the administrators, I think.

Welcome to the BB.

peace to you:praying:

When you have a bulletin board, you have two choices: with ads or without ads. Without ads is WAY more expensive - like there's no way to have a free board with no ads unless you are rich and very generous. For all of the boards I go on, there is always advertising. Just ignore the ads - they are not part of Baptist Board. :)

There surely is an affordable filter...

Thats why we alos write "hom0sexual"
or any other possible key work that could bring in unwanted ads.

But the real question is how can we disguise "bowtie" Maybe Dr. Bob can give us a hint.

That's simply not true. I've run a forum with a ton more traffic than this and know quite well the hosting costs for something of this size. A forum this size could easily be hosted for under 35 dollars a month. If that equates to "rich", then I have a different understanding of rich :).

I don't disagree with the use of ads, but there are ways to the site to block ads that they don't want on the site. Google allows you to block any ad you don't want on your site.

It's not just the hosting but the ENTIRE cost of the software, the hosting, the domain, etc. There's a lot more to a bulletin board than just hosting.

I know on another board, we contact the admins if we see an offensive ad or an ad that causes an issue (oftentimes it takes over the whole screen and we can't use the board at all) and they can request to eliminate individual ads. But honestly, I just look at one thing on the board and that's the content of posts. I never look at ads and couldn't tell you what the ads have been on this board at all.

I understand that as well. The software for this forum is a $200 one time charge. Honestly, if I was in their position I'd use phpBB and not pay for the software at all. phpBB can handle the traffic of this forum without issue. The domain is $10 bucks a year ;).

Like I said, I understand the costs involved in running a large forum. I ran one for years before I sold the site. Again, I'm not knocking the admins of this site for running ads. I have no problem with them recouping costs and making some extra cash. In fact, I am paying advertiser on this this site. I don't make mention of what I advertise, because I'm not here to promote my product.

Thank you for my Christmas gift :love2:
You want these for a PRESENT? I assume for an Exterminator Service, to drive away vermin?

This has no bow tie but catches me like I usually look with my hair down . . .
