Psalm 40:9-10 I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; behold, I will not restrain my lips, O Lord, You know. I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.
The psalmist was compelled to proclaim good news (glad tidings) of God's righteousness to the "great congregation". Some interpreters see the "great congregation" as either the nation of Israel or those gathered at corporate worship. Either way the psalmist's proclamation was to believers in the God of Israel. He reminds the congregation of the faithfulness of their salvation, and of God's truth. We are to build each other up in the Lord; reminding each other of God's goodness towards us. As the hymnist Thomas Chisholm wrote:

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God, My Father. There is no shadow of turning with Thee. Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not. As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Encourage one another with these words.
