I have watched Michael Steele for several years on Fox news. I think he is very conservative and will be good for the Republican Party.
I don't know squat about this guy, but I do know that if the Rs don't get back to some very strong conservative values - talking AND practicing, this lil puppy is gonna bolt!

Frankly I'm afraid that it's too late for a resurgence of the Rs (I would love to be proven wrong, but--) and I'm of the mind that a new constitutional based party needs to be initiated.

Only thing, if it ain't done real quick, it'll be too late & there won't be anything left to salvage.

I'm praying that God will stay the hand of the libs in the implementation of their socialist agenda, and maybe give conservatism a second chance in '10. If so, I pray that they don't blow it like the wonderful opportunity the Rs squandered in'94 - man what a fiasco!!

Maybe this guy is a step in the right direction, but if not, well the Rs are screwed.

He has a cutting sense of humor at times. I do not know if he will use it in his new position, but it can put people off in their view of him. He was the Lt. Gov. of Maryland.

Does this mean God is only the God of conservative ideals and not Liberal or Socialist?

I am sure the Christians of FDR's tyrannical reign feared the end was near. There probably wasn't much hope left.

Oh, I have no doubts that the nation will continue for quite a while (barring some over-zealous 3rd world nation that manages to nuke us while we play patty-cake), but this country will be nothing like we know it now - we'll be one of those 3rd world nations.

Had WWII not materialized, FDR would have had us there now.

You are right, the last 8 years have put us there.

If you think the US is any where near a third world country then you have never been to one. Absurd.

I've lived in several. Have you ever visited one?

I certainly have. Lets see California, Tennesee, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, .... :)

Actually, I have Senegal, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Ivory Coast, Philipenes. I would put Greece in that catagory but many would disagree with me.

Prayed, preached, fed the poor, provided clothes, ate, and slept in 11 remote villages and two major cities in the Kamataka and Andre Purdesh regions. Saw more than two thousand confess Christ as the one and true living God.

I have already bailed. I doubt they will ever get past their addiction of excessive spending.

Good for you. What kind of follow-up program was in place to help the two thousand grow? I am always interested in good follow-up programs.

Sathyevada, I believe I spelled that correctly, ministries is a Baptist ministry that is overseen by a national. Some of the pics were of one of the Baptist colleges I taught at while I was there. Pastors come out of there and are placed in churches started in these villages. There are now 46 churches in remote villages, 4 orphanages, and two Baptist colleges.

The man overseeing, I cannot spell or pronounce his name, travels quite a bit to Europe and the states raising funds to meet the needs of the churches, orphanages, and colleges.

Nothing in the US comes close to India and the like.

Sounds very interesting. I would like to visit India some day. I have a good friend who is a student at the seminary in Prague who is a Baptist pastor from Southern India. He is a wonderful Christian. His ancestors were of the untouchable class and worshiped snakes. His goal, at the request of his church, is to earn a Ph.D., return to India and teach in a seminary there. He said a number of Christians in his area told him they felt he should do this. After prayer, he and his wife, agreed, sold their home so they would have money to live on in Europe and have walked by faith that God will bring this goal into reality.
