Most NFL teams have sold out all home games before the season started so it's impossible for ticket sales to tank.

I’m not sure anyone will be able to accurately tell until next season begins.

Absolutely correct. By that time most of this will be forgotten. I doubt there will be a let up in ticket purchases.

My wife's family had Viking season tickets since 1964. We rotated games among family members. The team was very aggressive about making sure you reordered every year. Mailers, phone calls, emails, etc. I'm sure other teams put out the same efforts.

I’m reminded of the baseball strike. There is no doubt baseball was hurt.

I’m not with you on the “this all will have been forgotten”.

Baseball strike was an entirely different animal. Far more disruptive to the game than not kneeling during the anthem. The strike prevented people from attending games for months. Not kneeling doesn't get anywhere near that sort of damage.

I meant all will be forgotten in the context of ticket purchases. Most teams will sell out all tickets next summer, just like they did this year. There might be a couple of terrible teams that won't sell out, just like this year.

But we will have to wait and see.

The real money is in TV revenue. There are sponsors who have let go. Endorsements. Hard to believe the Armed Forces will buy ad time next year.

But not nearly so insulting and disrespectful.
Agreed. But the point being debated was whether or not Trump's attack on NFL players for not kneeling has affected ticket sales and TV ratings. The baseball strike obviously did affect ticket sales and TV ratings!

There is no debate on this. There is zero doubt that it has.

The debate is all in your mind.

So prove that ticket sales are down. Show us the TV ratings went down for games starting September 24th (the weekend after Trump's rants.)

Ought to be easy to do, if there is zero doubt.

NFL sees slight uptick in TV ratings amid Trump attacks

http://nypost.com/2017/09/26/nfl-sees-slight-uptick-in-tv-ratings-amid-trump-attacks/

With protests around the national anthem, Donald Trump interjecting in a big way and the risks of CTE hovering over the game, it wouldn't have been surprising to see early-season NFL television ratings numbers dip again in 2017. Yet, at least so far, there's not conclusive evidence that bears it out.

Are NFL boycotts hurting TV ratings this season?

The debate is not whether or not ratings are down. There is no doubt they are. The fact you can't find any sources shows your blindness on matters dealing with Trump.

The real debate is the causes they are down.

Continuing to insist they aren't down makes you look pretty silly.

Hey, everyone! NFL TV ratings are down since Trump's rants because carpro insists it is so!

Denial is becoming a habit of yours in matters dealing with Trump. I'm still hoping you'll get through it.

Dolphins Owner Just Dropped the Hammer on His 3 Players Who Protested the National Anthem — Whoa

Dolphins head coach, Adam Gase, implemented a policy on Sunday, October 8 that required players to stand for the national anthem or they can stay in the locker room.

The Dolphins owner, Steve Ross, said the reason for his policy is that President Donald Trump has changed what started as a social injustice protest into a patriotism debate and it's better for players to stand now.

Ross said:

"He’s changed that whole paradigm of what protest is and I think it’s incumbent upon the players today, because of how the public is looking at it, to really stand and really salute the flag.

Whenever you’re dealing with the flag you’re dealing with something different."

Sunday Night Football Slips Again As NFL Ratings Continue to Crater - Breitbart

There’s no real nice way of saying this, but people just don’t seem to care about watching the NFL anymore. On a day that saw a Vice President leave his seat in protest, the ratings for Sunday Night Football once again fell below the number for the previous week.

NBC’s Sunday Night Football earned 10.6/18 in metered market results, that fall constitutes a 3% drop from last week’s numbers.

Stephen A. Smith warns NFL on national anthem protests: Donald Trump is ‘winning’

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has a warning for the National Football League: President Trump is “winning” an ongoing public relations debate with them.

Another weekend of national anthem protests by NFL players — punctuated by Vice President Mike Pence walking out during an Indianapolis Colts game — was the topic of conversation on Monday’s “First Take.” Mr. Smith looked into the camera and told NFL players and officials that Mr. Trump has controlled the debate, despite critics who claim otherwise.
