There seems to be some difference, but I would agree that they should have been more consistent o regard the NLT as having same problems with inclusive language as Niv does!
And that is one of Rippon's most valid complaints. Everybody harps on the NIV, while giving translations such as the NLT a pass. The Southern Baptist Convention is even guilty of such....and maybe one of the reasons for the aggression being sent the NIV's way and to no other translation. It was wrong of the Convention to call out the NIV and not everyone else by name that they felt was in error.

This is also my biggest complaint against the NIV detractors. I find some of their concerns could, but the hipocracy is embarrassing. They need to consistent. I have said several times on this board. Many of pastors(in my area) have abandoned the NIV for this issue, but now preach from the NLT.

I view the Niv 2011 as still a decent version, nut just cannot agree with them on how much inclusive language was done on their revision, and do see it still better than the Nlt, but would still prefer more formal ones such as Nasb/Nkjv...

You can prefer other versions, just don't lie about the NIV which is your calling card.

I was "tongue in cheek:, as know that he is Niv preferred, but still seems blind top some of its known faults!
You are blind to your hypocrisy, your avoidance of being specific and constantly defaming the NIV without foundation.
And you still have not dealt with my post which addressed the lies of the nameless author you fawned over.

I don't. as many see it as I do!
You just do not get that the Niv 2011 went too far, and that they should have kept the 1984 edition, and just revise grammar when needed!

The Niv 2011 does though seem to give more leeway to the idea that women are allowed to teach and pastor, and it does seem to try to water down what it views as being "over masculation" of the bible...
Your pants are on fire.

I have given you countless opportunities to man-up and tell the truth. Deal with my post. Address the spefics I have asked for. Otherwise you are demonstrating that truth doesn't matter --that you can say anything you want, but not back up a whit.

I have, but again, you just say that there is no truth to the translators trying to "feminize: the bible into something more acceptable to many today!

The above exemplifies lobbing accusations with no specifics. That is his stock n' trade.

What is wrong with you? Why continue to be such a bore? Answer my question; don't weasel-out.

Again, this was your post where you made unfounded claims. Back up --document --prove your assertion by giving evidence. If you do not then what's the point on being on a forum in which you NEVER do what normal people do --answer questions. Be specific. Don't quote my posts yet ignore what I say --that shows no integrity. It shows you have no regard for the truth.

The 2011 Revision of the NIV

Pretty much sums up nicely what many baptists felt on the revised Niv!

The above is yet again another example of Y1 lying about the NIV. He lobs but does not back up anything. He throws mud on the wall and hopes that something might stick, but he gets dirty in the process.

Marlowe didn't say anything about the NIV "feminizing the Bible."

You need to be a man and do your own homework. Do not lie, do not deflect, do not avoid specifics.Do not quote my posts yet ignore their content. You know, common sense things any adult, especially a Christian would know full well.
