Not boasting, was "tongue in cheek"

I will simply say that since I am not a sarcastic person, I do not view the posts of others as "tongue in cheek," unless this is made plain to me, via the use of emoticons, when in written form.

If one is being sarcastic when "face to face" with an individual, sarcasm is usually obvious, due to nonverbal cues, such as tone of voice, body language, facial expressions, etc.

(I point this out, so that in your future posts, you may keep these things in mind).

Most people have no idea that "the third hour " refers to "nine in the morning," for example, so I appreciate the fact that the NIV renders time in our modern fashion.

Besides the over-abundance of 'ands" that proliferate the landscape of Matthew in the ESV, 'beholds' are ever present.
Here is a listing of the times that these translations use the word 'behold' in the book of Matthew:

Mounce : 9
NABRE : 29
NKJV : 36
ESV : 40
NASB : 42
KJV : 60
LEB : 60
WEB : 63

Needless to say (though I will) the NIV, NLT, NET, NRSV, CEB, CSB, and ISV do not use the word at all in the book of Matthew.
