(you can't listen to what he says because he is unsaved?) Once again the only absolutes are what you consider them to be! Open you Eyes!

I HAVE opened my eyes, years ago, or, rather, had them opened by GOD. That's how I saw KJVO is a man-made crock, a FALSE DOCTRINE-by actually EXAMINING THE EVIDENCE FOR MYSELF, and not depending upon someone undependable as Terry Watkins.

And your last sentence above is applicable to the KJVOs. THEY have set their own standards and absolutes, based entirely upon GUESSWORK AND OPINION.

If I'm wrong, show us some PROOFthat the KJVO doctrine has any ring of truth to it whatsoever.

How do you define "far left"? You are certainly more liberal than most of us on the versions issue. We aren't the ones making unfounded attacks on God's Word. Yes we criticize translations or textual choices but that isn't the same as calling God's Word a "perversion" et al.

    Three things here...

Where were you called a blatant liar? I would like to look at the context.

How do you know the person is ungodly? What command of scripture did they violate?

How do you know they didn't check out what you said? Maybe they just disagree with you and recognize sources that are unreliable such as David Cloud, Jack Chick, Riplinger, etc.

Again, how do you know they are ungodly. You seem to be throwing charges around wildly. Is that demonstrating a Christlike spirit?

Maybe what you are saying is "HOGWASH". I don't even know what you said but that seems like the first place for a Christian to start when they have been confronted by another Christian. Shouldn't we first with a humble spirit ask ourselves, "Am I wrong?"?
You would probably stand less of a chance of being attacked if your charge had merit.

For instance, if I said something and you provided proof that it was untrue then that is simply a case of my being mistaken or of disagreement. If I came back and countered with my own evidence then we have an honest debate/disagreement. However, if I simply came back and continued to repeat the same untrue statements then I would be lying since you had given proof that what I said was false that I had no response for.

I can assure you that many if not most of us who oppose you on these issues operate with a strong sense of biblical absolutes.

No. You apparently made a statement you thought was true and had uncritically accepted since it supports your opposition to the NKJV. Now you have seen evidence to contradict what you stated. If you want to continue then maybe show that all symbolism is wrong a la Watchtower teachings or maybe prove that the symbols you would accept were never used by pagans or false Christians.

However, if you continue to make a statement that has been refuted in a way that you cannot counter then you will be guilty of lying.

Amen to that! No excuse for NKJV that were produced by the conservative translators because it makes the Satan happy if you use the NKJV with the symbol! Shame on those translators!

Didn't Jesus call attributing the work of God to Satan "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" and declare it an unforgiveable sin? Bet he's not so impressed with so-called "Bible believers" who declare God's holy Word to be Satanic.

You have yet to prove your heretical claim that the KJV is God's word alone. You can't make a claim about another version and have it be valid unless you can support your primary claim first.

Please be careful. I know that you're convinced you're on the right side of the issue, but please don't be to cavalier with statements like this.

It seems as though people are enjoying this conflict...this is not a game we're playing. This little dialogue has gotten out of hand, and I think everyone knows it. Please restrain yourselves, before someone makes a mistake. We will, after all, have to answer not only for our words, but our BBS postings on that blessed day we all wait for.

Spirit and Truth: "Since I've been on this
forum, I have been accused at least
five times of being a KJVO person ... "

I didn't accuse you of being KJVO.
So if i said "singular you" i surely
meant "plural you", namely those who
are KJVO. Sorry if by default i implied
that Spirit and Truth is KJVO but there
are KJVOs around just not Spirit and Truth.

Lots and lots. As a linguistic group, we English speakers have been truly blessed.

If you have a problem with the proliferation of English translations, take it up with the Author.

At present over 500 different English translations have blessed English speakers from the Anglo Saxon versions dating prior to 900 AD to the latest version hot off the press.

I understand how you feel. It is especially embarrassing for those of us who are KJVP. Sometimes those in the KJVO crowd make me want to use the NIV, ESV, NLT, NASB, or anything except the KJV. However, I refuse to let this extreme non-scriptural view from influencing which bible I will read.

I was a member of a Sunday school class while I was living in Chattanooga, Tennessee that was taught by a man who worked on the NKJV. He understood Hebrew better than I understand English. He was one of the most humble, godly Christians I have ever known. For someone here to insinuate that he had part in anything that is satanic is almost unforgivable.

To know that some who have made these kinds of accusations here are pastors of baptist churches is alarming. Knowing that these poor unsuspecting people are being exposed to this heresy from these pastors week after week is truly sad. [IMG]

How many Bible(s) for English-speaking nation did God give us? </font>[/QUOTE]as many as it takes to reach everyone that doesn't know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives. We should be thankful that God has blessed us with as many translations as he has instead of being critical.

If you don't even know what I said or what someone said to me then PLEASE don't criticize me before you get all the facts, That shows your prejudice against people who use only the King James Bible.

THIS FORUM WAS NOT ABOUT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST PRESERVING HIS WORDS FOR US IN OUR KING JAMES BIBLE. THERE IS NO NEED TO ATTACK US ON THIS FORUM.

THIS FORUM WAS ABOUT THE PAGAN SYMBOL ON THE NEW KING JAMES BIBLE!

I simply typed "Triquetra" in my search engine and I found many pages on WICCA. I went through them and found this quote:

"The triquetra is a triangular Celtic knot design which symbolizes all trinities"

    "Pagan/Wiccan/Goddess Symbolism:
The Triquetra represents the threefold nature of the Goddess as virgin, mother and crone.
It symbolizes life, death, and rebirth and the three forces of nature: earth, air, and water. The inner three circles represent the female element and fertility."

"The Triquetra is on the cover on the "Book of Shadows," a powerful spell book, and on the Spiritboard, the prop department's idea of what a talking board looks like. The Halliwells might be surprised to learn that the Triquetra also appears on the Christian Bible, New King James Version, in real life. It may come as no surprise too, that there are some angry Christians out there who feel that the witches have stolen their symbol. Real life Wiccans claim that they had it first. Makes for an interesting situation, to say the least."
"The pagans have a few points in their favor, however. We can speculate knowing what we do of similar signs. The early Christians freely "appropriated" many pagan symbols, rituals, and holidays and took them as their own. The Mandorla (left), the Christians' sacred almond, was originally a pagan feminine symbol signifying fertility. The Christians changed it to one representing virginity and purity. It is pictured in early Christian art as the almond-shaped halo of Christ. So it's quite probable that the early Christians adopted the Triquetra, an interlocking triple Mandorla, also. In the final analysis, maybe the origin isn't nearly as important as its meaning to the group, or the individual. So whether you're pagan, Christian, or simply a fan of the television show "Charmed," you may believe what you want to believe . So can we"

LOOK at those words I put in BOLD...This is what some unsaved man says, "YOU MAY BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT TO BELIEVE."
THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN HEARING ON THIS BOARD..."BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT TO, WE HAVE NO ABSOLUTES" IT DOESN'T MATTER IF WICCA DOES IT, YOU CAN DO IT TOO ALL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.

DON'T ATTACK US WHO KNOW GOD PRESERVED A PERFECT BIBLE IN HEBREW (O.T.) GREEK (N.T.) ENGLISH (ENTIRE BIBLE) SPANISH, ETC.
GET YOUR EYES ON THE SUBJECT AT HAND: THE PAGAN SYMBOL ON THE new king james version!

STOP COMPARING EVERYTHING TO THE KING JAMES BIBLE, COMPARE IT TO YOUR living bible (great translation and other such translations)

I plan to start another Forum about, "Do you on this baptist board think any versions are corrupt? Are there any that you would definetly set aside?

Hey Artic, that symbol is on a Led Zepplin album I used to listen to when I was a teenager, before salvation of course. It is also displayed on some United Methodist churches. The popular show Charmed has it in the beginning. My brother who named his dog Wicca, certainly can tell you what it means. Funny how a lost person can identify things of the devil.

Artic Bound: "A pagan symbol is a pagan symbol.
I don't care who uses it.

By your logic: A Christian symbol is
a Christian symbol. I don't care who uses it.

Now what happens to symbols that
    are both Christian and pagan?
Obviously your logic fails. The problem
is your "I don't cre who uses it".
In fact, a symbol means what the
    beholder thinks it means.

IF what you say is true, you must never
again use those Pagan ABC things to write
    posts.

BTW, i really have little respect for
    anybody who belittles my
Holy Bible, God's Written Word, in the
form of the New King James Bible (kKJB).
This is especially so when it is done over
a trivial thing like a symbol which doesn't
even porport to be a part of the translation.

BTW again, does the symbol on the spine
of my New King James Version (nKJV) have
any occult meaning? The symbol is
a cross with the "N" across the long
bottom stem of the cross. I guess the
"N" stands for "Nelson" the publisher.
